Our story begins of the coast of Casablanca on the small Portuguese island of Madeira. It has been known to be a relaxed tourist island until the finch families moved in. They have been unlike any other boss the island has seen.
They came onto the island really nice and friendly singing sweet songs to fit everyone's fancy. Overnight they started building up the place. One Finch in particular named Tony is very highly protective of his baby sister Gloria. He treats her as if she were his own daughter. When the sun comes up in the morning makes sure she has the sweetest things to eat. In the evening he won't let any of the other Finch guys near her. If one even beats an eye lash at her he goes all Peacock on them. This is his baby sister and he doesn't let anybody touch her.
All the finches knew to stay away from Gloria but she was such a special girl some guys just couldn't resist to give it a try. Among all the boys that tried to flirt with his sister, Tony couldn't stand Dennis. This Dennis was a smart bird. He would get up early in the morning when Tony was out of the nest and just sing casually along the trail. Gloria knew this song well. She knew that she shouldn't sing along because every time she did her brother tony recognized her voice and came swooping in to give a lump on Dennis' head.
One morning Dennis was there singing the most beautiful song and Tony was not back with breakfast even though hours past. The sun was already getting large and Gloria was feeling hungry. Dennis knew this was his opportunity. He flew up to the coconut tree and cracked open a coconut too eat. This was quite an impressive sight. Gloria was in awe at the way he took the coconut down. She was impressed at the power of this bird, but more than that she was hungry. She couldn't resist leaving her nest and coming down to the island flood to enjoy the coconut together. No one could blame a bird for being hungry.
Meanwhile her brother had fallen into trouble with the Pigeons at the Ribeiro Frio Park on the far side of the island. He found a tasty snack but the Trocaz Pigeon came and knocked it out of his mouth. There was no other choice for this Finch but to fins some other food. Tony knew better than to start a fight with that pigeon, but the delay cost him precious time to get back to his sister Gloria.
When he got back to her he saw her eating with that chump Dennis. There were no questions asked. Dennis and Tony were beak to beak and claw to claw. This was the most grueling fight the finches had ever seen. Tony didn't give Dennis a chance. He came soaring from up on high and smashed into him with his front claws. Dennis was chocking and could hardly breath. Gloria was shouting, "Stop!"
But Tony was not stopping. Dennis had a better idea and tumbled away off a cliff. Tony gave up chasing him, but Dennis was a lot smarter than he imagined. He decided if you can't beat them then join them. He started to help out around the whole Finch family. He didn't just sit around singing but he brought food when it was needed and shared with everyone. Gloria wondered why he stopped singing to her and stopped paying attention to her. She didn't know how much he really loved her nor how smart he was to wait. He seemed to have put off pursuing her and showed no interest in her, but he put his focus on helping everybody.
At the end of the season when it was time to fly off Tony took notice of how much Dennis help out the whole family. He was impressed. He was so impressed that he said, "Hey Dennis how 'bout you flying with my kid sister this time. Just don't do anything crazy."
