Cedar Waxwings

One of the neatest-looking birds I have encountered in and around Calgary, the Cedar Waxwing can be found in wooded areas typically near the edge. They like berries and are attracted to the sound of running water. They can also be found in spots with well-spaced trees like some parks, golf courses, and cemeteries.

Other than in breeding season, they will most often feed in large flocks that sometimes number in the hundreds. The group I saw here was possibly more numerous than I thought, as they seemed to be all over the place in several different trees at the time.

Very beautiful, the hair on his head looks like it's just ready to be combed.
