Northern Flicker Woodpecker

in #hive-1064442 months ago

The Northern Flicker is what I call a residential woodpecker, I seem to see them in many neighborhoods, including my own. I just so happened to be looking out my window when I saw this one hoping around on the lawn, so I scrambled to get my camera and change lenses to see if I could get some close ups. When I was able to get outside, fortunately, this bird had yet to fly off and I knew from past experience that the Northern Flicker will startle pretty easily. It had moved a little further away than I expected, hence why I had to change lenses. I kept track as long as I could and am satisfied to have both gotten a few shots, but more importantly, I didn't disrupt this little woodpecker's day.
