Hello, feathered friends.
I haven't published a weekly or monthly bird spotting report from my walks in a while. There wasn't a day that went by that I didn't see and photograph birds, even though I wasn't as attentive as I formerly was and didn't go specifically to sites where I had previously seen particular species of birds.
In addition to postings about specific species, this year I intend to publish monthly posts listing every species I've observed and taken pictures of. Since I expect to photograph 20 to 40 different bird species on average each month, I won't go into great detail or describe the birds.
As for the beginning of this year, this is definitely the warmest January I can remember, and I'm over 40 years old.
During the whole of January, snow fell only twice and melted almost instantly. In contrast to the snow, it rained for half of the month. The wettest days occurred in mid-January.
All birds were observed and photographed in an area with a diameter of 10 kilometers from my house. Most of them were photographed outside the inhabited area, in fields, near watercourses, or in the forest. A small part was observed and photographed in a populated area.
Each image was captured using a Canon EOS 1000D camera and an EFS 55-250mm lens.
The following photographs, in alphabetical order, show 25 different bird species that I photographed in January.
