Now what could a sunbird and a white-eye have in common?
Well for one, they both drink out of our water bottle at the same time.
It's been a long and tough year for all of us and I type this with storm clouds flying over our roof inland at high speed.
Someone somewhere has a big storm coming their way. The amazing thing is that there is no wind on the ground, but overhead the clouds are racing in a fierce high wind.
The wind can boost those clouds at high speed all over the country.
But come and have a look at our little treasures today.
I have to say that the male white-eye looks better than the female sunbird on the bottle.
Specie names;
Sunbird, "Southern collared sunbird" (Cinnyris chalybeus)
White-eye, "Cape White-eye" (Zosterops virens)
And they both also eat from the same tree in our garden
The only difference was that the White eyes had their baby with them.
A small noisy little bugger that kept screaming for food.
But he was cuteness overload.
The dad was on the bottle and the mom was collecting food for the baby.
Finally the female sunbird was also doing her own thing in the tree. She most probably also has a baby stashed somewhere.
Some of our beautiful smaller birds on show and they didn't even mind me standing under the tree. Maybe the mom white-eye brought her baby for some food, but Marian wasn't around and I don't carry dried worms in my pocket.
Had Marian seen this I would have no rest, as she would want me to build a cot for the baby under the tree and all kinds of other things.
So it was my lucky day and the baby will be perfectly fine, as his parents know how to look after him.
And That's All Friends!
