🦉 The Eurasian tree sparrow (Passer montanus)
- Passer (lat.) sparrow
- montanus lat .: mōns, montis - mountain, mountain range, montanus - mountain
This is the wild brother of the familiar house sparrow. They differ in appearance. This species has a brown cap on its head, as well as white cheeks with black spots on them, and in general the color of the plumage looks more contrasting.
In addition, they do not have pronounced sexual dimorphism; the male and female look the same, unlike the house sparrow where it exists.
Since this is a wild species, they live in the wild. For example, in my city they are found on the outskirts; there are a lot of them on the coastal zone where dense bushes grow. There are also a lot of them. in towns and villages
When winter comes, they may fly into cities and feed at feeders in parks along with their brothers the house sparrows. But in the spring they fly back into the wild.
