🦉 The Ural owl (Strix uralensis)
- Strix strigis (lat.) owl; strideo (lat.) to hiss, whistle
- uralensis Uralic
Every year in mid-October, owls of various species begin migrating through the forests of my city, and not only forests. And every year in one place in the forest I meet this species. To be more precise, this place is a ravine in which a small river flows.
But unfortunately, I don’t always manage to take good photos, because in these places there live magpies who really don’t like owls, and therefore constantly chase them away.
One day I saw four magpies chasing a poor owl. And only an hour later the owl found a secluded place where it sat down and dozed off.
