🦉 The black kite (Milvus migrans)
- Milvus (lat) - kite
- migrans (lat.) - migrating
In my city there is a great place to photograph these birds. It is a steep bank by the river, which is at a height, and therefore allows you to photograph these birds correctly, from their eye level.
In this place these birds catch fish, looking for it for a long time, and if they see that the fish is swimming close to the surface of the water, they fly up and snatch it from the water.
And on the other side there is a meadow, where these birds look out for small rodents, but their chances of catching them are slim. Basically, these birds are scavengers who like to steal something from the scraps from garbage cans.
