🦉 The Siberian stonechat or Asian stonechat (Saxicola maurus)
- Saxicola (lat ): saxum rock, stone, -cola inhabitant
- maurus (lat.): Moorish, black
These birds live in open spaces, so you need to look for them in fields, clearings, meadows. In my city there are several places where these birds live. The most numerous is, of course, the meadow, where there is a lot of space. These birds appear there at the beginning of May.
And the beginning of May is the most favorable time to observe them, because there is no dense vegetation and the birds are clearly visible. But even in the summer it is not difficult to see them, all because of their special behavior. Namely, the love to climb to the top of tall grass or thickets and observe the situation.
