🦉 The coal tit or cole tit (Periparus ater)
- Peri (Greek) very, hugely
- Parus (lat.) Tit
- ater (lat.) black, dark

There is a very interesting story connected with the name of this tit in my language. In our language it is called something like "Moscowian". And it got this name because of someone's illiteracy! Because initially this bird was called something like "masked", for its characteristic black mask on its head, like an executioner's. But then someone made a mistake and since then it is called nothing other than a moscow tit.

This executioner's mask is especially visible when the bird is alarmed and raises its tiny crest on its head.
