These nest parasites appear in the forests and outskirts of my city around the beginning of May. It is very noticeable when the male cuckoos. However, it is not easy to see the bird itself, it is quite timid.

On the very outskirts of the city there are meadows where it is easiest to observe this bird. The thing is that the bird is a typical inhabitant of tall trees, and there are practically none in the meadows. Therefore, I know in advance where the cuckoos are. Their victims live in the meadows, where they lay their eggs.
