Bird hunting in a coconut plantation // The most difficult experience behind my success in photographing three types of beautiful birds

in #hive-1064442 days ago

Good morning to all my beloved hive friends ♥️

Yesterday I did another very challenging and very difficult activity, which was bird hunting in a coconut plantation. As we already know, bird hunting is very difficult, even more difficult than insect hunting, because birds' sensitivity to threats is very strong, so let alone taking pictures of them, it is very difficult to approach them, plus I only had a cellphone and an Apexel 28x Zoom lens, and of course it was very difficult to do.

Yesterday at exactly 02.00 noon I left home with two small children whom I had deliberately brought along on this hunt, the aim being to make it easier for me to carry out this hunting activity, and we set off for the coconut plantation using a motorbike and after nine minutes of travel we finally arrived at the coconut plantation.

The main reason I chose a coconut plantation as a place to hunt birds is because in this plantation there are only coconut trees so there is still a lot of open land left for the birds to play in.

Once we arrived at the coconut plantation, we immediately walked to explore the place in the hope of finding some beautiful birds, and after walking a few steps, finally from a distance I saw a great egret playing with its best friend, the buffalo.

Great egret and buffalo

More or less I photographed this bird from a distance of more than 40 meters and from that distance the bird was able to realize my presence which made the bird immediately hide behind the buffalo, but fortunately before the bird hid I had managed to photograph it in several shots.

We can see that these different species look very friendly when playing and foraging together, and there are many things that make these great egrets like to play near buffaloes, one of which is that the birds will easily get food because when the buffalo eats grass, there will be many small insects flying and the flying insects can be caught by the egret's long beak and eaten,The point is mutually beneficial.

After photographing this egret, I went back to look for other types of birds, until when I arrived at the edge of the river, I saw another finch perched on a tree branch.

Sooty-headed Bulbul

Because the distance was still far, I kept walking closer, but it made the bird fly to another place, but fortunately the bird did not fly too far so I could still follow it. I walked slowly again to approach the bird until when I felt my distance to the bird was close, I immediately took a picture of it.

And I managed to photograph this bird well in this experiment. The bird was seen cleaning its feathers on a tree branch, and my success in photographing this bird made me feel happy and more enthusiastic to continue this bird hunting activity.

And while looking at the photos that I had taken, suddenly we heard a very beautiful bird sound from a distance and it was possible that the sound came from the plantation next to this garden, but to get to the plantation we had to cross a small river first, but because the sound of the bird was very melodious, we didn't pay much attention to the river and immediately walked towards the source of the sound which was on the plantation.

After arriving at the plantation, we did not immediately look for the source of the sound, because we chose to rest for a moment while listening to the melodious sound of the birds.

There were two very tired children who decided to rest too, but when we were resting, suddenly the sound of the bird was very close to where we were resting so we immediately turned around and tried to find out where the sound was coming from, and finally one of the children managed to see a bird whose melodious voice was most likely the sound of this bird.

Woodpecker

And it turns out that the source of the sound came from this beautiful bird, and in my place this bird is often called the skull woodpecker, and my distance from this bird was only about 15 meters and it seemed that this bird did not consider me a threat to it, because this bird looked like it was posing beautifully when I took its picture.

I don't have a DSLR camera yet and I've never known how it feels to photograph birds using it, now I use a cellphone camera with the help of an Apexel 24x Zoom lens and honestly photographing birds is very difficult because I have to be able to get really close to the bird and I also have to be able to use the lens well so that it doesn't shake, the point is hunting birds using a cellphone is very difficult and very tiring, but this is a challenge for myself and about how I can make the most of the things I have, but I still enjoy it and am still happy.

Well, those are some pictures and stories from me in this post, I really hope that this post can provide entertainment for all of my friends. All of these pictures are purely my own, I took this picture using an Infinix 10 Pro cellphone and edited this picture using the Lightroom application.

See you again in my next post ♥️
