I'm not really a fan of chickens, in fact, I'm so afraid of them that when I see them, I have this thought that they will run after me to pierce me with their deadly mouth. I really thought they were all savage beasts, but how wrong was I to assume that?
This is Momma Maria and her little chicks. They are just weeks older, and look how cute and tiny they are. They are kind of afraid yet of the presence of humans, but when they see that their momma can accommodate a human, they will stick to her as if they are also observing us. Maria is one of those tamed chickens, which is one of Mom's pets. Her brother Jose is also a tamed one, and I often hug Jose as if he were just like a cat or dog. That's how close we are to them.
Jose and Maria got used to us too while they were still young chicks. I often caress their heads, and that is maybe the reason why they got used to us. And I love it because I never thought that time would come where I would never be afraid of chickens again. And instead of running away from them, I will call them instead to get their attention. And these two never failed me, when I call them, they will really come running at me. So who won't fall in love with them? Who wouldn't like these beautiful creatures?
Then Maria gave these precious little ones to us, and just watching them like this melted my heart. Just look how good of a mother Maria is. I love that she's letting us pet her baby - I mean, caress their head. I was able to hold one chick this afternoon. They are digging and digging in this spot, and I was able to pet the other one.
And while also watching them, I caught these two with their judging eyes, they are like, "What that stpd hooman is doing now?" But gosh, they are still cute even though they are judging me, lol. They are all so innocent, I want to put them in a bag and bring them home to cuddle with them.
I'm curious if, just like their father Jose, they will also be clingy types once they grow up. Jose is so clingy to my mama that wherever she is, he will follow. It's cute, really! I just hope they are clingy.
But let me share another clingy type of chick, lol. Well, it's really in their nature to be this clingy to their momma coz they are still a baby so it's really understandable. I want them to act like that to me once they grow, hoping here (☞^o^) ☞. They are full of dirt because, as I've said, they are digging on the ground to lay on those holes. Why are they all like that? They really have to dig first. Even Jose is doing the same thing.
And by the way, this is the little one that I was able to hold for a short time. I just noticed that this one is having a hard time swallowing. I informed mom about it, and I just discovered that the reason this cutie is not running away from me is because she or he is sick. I like that I was able to tame her, but I wish for her to get better soonest. I'll be very sad if she doesn't make it.
Here's more of her photo, she's really attached to her mom right now. I tried giving her a papaya a while ago, and she ate it. I'm glad that she's eating, but I'll be happier if she gets better right this instant.
Anyway, let me also share this handsome Pepe. I mentioned in my recent article that I am not that close to Pepe. I can't even hold him, unlike Mama, who can carry him around. I tried numerous times to tame him, but he is just hard to get. But today, tadaaaan! Tadaaaan! Lol. I was able to caress his head and see how shocked he was. I know that he can't just run away because he has a leash, but I'm still happy (≧▽≦). I love it very much!
