One snowy winter morning we found a dove shaking uncontrollably in our garden. The bird was clearly unable to fly and its condition looked terrible. We worried as we gently took it up. Realizing that something sever had struck along its side, this was not only cold but also hurt!! Wishing to be of assistance, we erected a temporary shelter and treated its wounds. We took the dove to a local vet for immediate firstaid, and then put it in a sunny place where it could receive warmth. As days went by, the bird's health recovered. Finally, it gathered strength and spread its wings tentatively. When the feeble dove took wing, this was a source of great joy to see. One tiny gesture of giving our care and compassion had not only saved the dove but allowed it to fly again, a sickly bird returned from illness to fill its wings with strength.
