The turkey and the ant - Aesop's fable
We notice flaws in others, put a mote in their eye and discover the faintest shadow and speck, and we are blind to our own shortcomings.
"Let the turkey, full of ordinary food, go from the yard to the nearby forest. Behind her, the turkeys scattered, buying a grain here and there...
Come here, my birds - the turkey is calling them, there is a treat hidden in this mound. Look at this industrious black race, swarming around by the thousands! Don't be afraid, but like me, feel free to eat them. Ants are really an extremely tasty food....
The turkey and the ant -
Aesop's fable
We notice flaws in others, put a mote in their eye and discover the faintest shadow and speck, and we are blind to our own shortcomings.
Let the turkey, full of ordinary food, go from the yard to the nearby forest. Behind her, the turkeys scattered, buying a grain here and there.
Come here, my birds - the turkey is calling them, there is a treat hidden in this mound. Look at this industrious black race, swarming around by the thousands! Don't be afraid, but like me, feel free to eat them. Ants are really an extremely tasty food.
What a wonderful life we ââwould have, to be the envy of everyone, if the kitchen knife did not constantly threaten us! But people, damned people stalk us turkeys all the time, and on the holiday they just kill us. Sometimes they serve us with oysters, and sometimes we are delicious roasts. At every table, from the simple peasant to the greatest gentleman, the turkey is smoked. People are, by God, cursed with intemperance in eating, the worst of all sins...
An ant, which climbed a nearby beech tree out of her reach, answered her like this:
Before you fall on the sins of others, look into your own born soul and curb your very voracious beak, with which you eat whole nations for breakfast."
I loved reading fables, they were instructive and could make you laugh...
I've read many, but I don't remember the turkey in the stories đ¤
But I managed to find this one, for this occasion...
Because unless the turkey is being prepared for Thanksgiving, or for Christmas....for some celebration...we don't know anything anymore...It is rarely seen except in the zoo....
This turkey has been here for a couple of years... This time he came running when he saw me đ
And here is a portrait of a turkey...
Thank you very much for visiting my blog đ
Have a nice evening â¨
