I have a new assignment, on the farm (in addition to watering flower/plants & raking leaves). Two tiny birds, my guess is only a week or two old, have fallen out of a tree & sit shivering in front of me.

They’re too young to feed themselves — I know because I have raised pigeons in the past— and the challenge is to keep them alive long enough until I can find adoptive parents.

They’re utterly defenseless, so I’m trying to teach them how to drink milk (with rice) and stay hydrated.

Here is their makeshift nest:

Will post again, later, with developments… Wish me luck or send me any tips, if you have them!

Major breakthrough 🤗 Larger bird drank by himself — captured on video — and crossed table to perch on my arm:

I learned from a friend that because the birds are covered with feathers, they are probably a fledgling rather than nestling birds.

Their parents might be nearby and would continue feeding them after they were pushed out of the nest - which is a stage of development.

Generally, if you remove them from their parents then you are separating them from their food source.

It is a common assumption that they cannot fend for themselves, but parents do continue to feed them after they enter the fledgling stage.
