¡Feliz día de la mujer! Feliz día para mí, hoy es un día especial, recordamos aquel 8 de marzo en el que las mujeres alzaron su voz para luchar contra la injusticia de la diferencia salarial entre hombres y mujeres.
Ese fue el inicio de un Movimiento, donde algunas mujeres inclusive perdieron la vida. La lucha por la igualdad de oportunidades se mantiene, pero diría que hoy estamos cosechando los frutos de lo que ellas sembraron.
Esta fecha nos recuerda la importancia de las mujeres en nuestras vidas, de ellas venimos y debemos honrarlas, así que hoy es un día especial para agradecer sus enseñanzas, su cariño, su formación, por no quedarse calladas y por demostrar al mundo de lo que están hechas.
Particularmente vengo de un hogar donde mamá es la líder y de ella he aprendido a luchar por mis sueños, a no detenerme por nada y a confiar en mis capacidades, en uno de mis últimos post les decía que mi mamá siempre me había regalado libros de autoayuda y uno de los que me regaló justamente trataba sobre este tema del empoderamiento femenino, específicamente a ser una mujer exitosa a nivel laboral en un mundo dominado por hombres.
He tenido la oportunidad de trabajar en lugares donde me siento súper valorada, no es tan común encontrar mujeres en el área tecnológica, pero cuando llegamos a ese espacio podemos aportar desde nuestra feminidad a dar soluciones bajo otra perspectiva.
Así que realmente estoy agradecida por estas enseñanzas que ha querido transmitirme mi madre, por colaborar en mi educación, en mi formación, en mi vida de fe, por trabajar el doble para poder sacarme adelante a mi familia y mucho más.
Mi mamá es la profe de inglés, mamá Heyra, mamá de Ambar y de Isabel, la que resuelve todo, la que hace la pasta más rica y se esmera porque no falte nada.
También tengo la fortuna de tener a mi abuelita, ella me ha visto crecer muy de cerca, es muy buena para escuchar, dar buenos consejos, cocinar un café muy rico, y rezar por la familia.
La mamá de la mamá es mi abuelita, la que ve muchas series en Netflix (más que yo), cuida de Aisha (mi perrita), y aunque ya es de la avanzada tercera edad, está más fresca que una lechuga.
También hay otra mujer de mi familia, que es importante para mí, mi hermana Isabel, ella es súper diferente a mí, a nivel de carácter, personalidad, pero, sin duda es parte importante de mi vida, y aunque ya sea más alta que yo y sea mayor de edad, siempre será mi hermanita a la que amo mucho y siempre le deseo lo mejor.
Así que en este día, te invito a valorar de donde vienes, a las mujeres de tu familia, tu madre, tu abuela. Aquellas que han sido ejemplo a seguir, y que han logrado mucho gracias a su determinación. ¡Gracias por ser tan especiales!
Happy Women's Day! Happy day for me, today is a special day, we remember that March 8th when women raised their voices to fight against the injustice of the wage gap between men and women.
That was the beginning of a Movement, where some women even lost their lives. The struggle for equal opportunities continues, but I would say that today we are reaping the fruits of what they sowed.
This date reminds us of the importance of women in our lives, we come from them and we must honor them, so today is a special day to thank them for their teachings, their love, their training, for not remaining silent and for showing the world what they are made of.
Particularly I come from a home where mom is the leader and from her I have learned to fight for my dreams, to not stop for anything and to trust in my abilities, in one of my last post I told you that my mom had always given me self-help books and one of the ones she gave me was just about this topic of female empowerment, specifically to be a successful woman in the workplace in a world dominated by men.
I have had the opportunity to work in places where I feel super valued, it is not so common to find women in the technology area, but when we get to that space we can contribute from our femininity to provide solutions from another perspective.
So I am really grateful for these teachings that my mother has wanted to transmit to me, for collaborating in my education, in my formation, in my life of faith, for working twice as hard to be able to support my family and much more.
My mother is the English teacher, Heyra's mother, Ambar and Isabel's mother, the one who solves everything, the one who makes the most delicious pasta and takes care that nothing is missing.
I am also fortunate to have my abuelita, she has seen me grow up very closely, she is a great listener, gives good advice, cooks great coffee, and prays for the family.
The mom's mom is my abuelita, the one who watches a lot of series on Netflix (more than me), takes care of Aisha (my dog), and even though she's already in her advanced senior years, she's as fresh as a daisy.
There is also another woman in my family who is important to me, my sister Isabel, she is very different from me, in terms of character, personality, but she is undoubtedly an important part of my life, and although she is taller than me and is older than me, she will always be my little sister whom I love very much and I always wish her the best.
So on this day, I invite you to value where you come from, the women in your family, your mother, your grandmother. Those who have been an example to follow, and who have achieved so much thanks to their determination. Thank you for being so special!
