Yesterday was a day when I got up very excited, because I had a special appointment marked on my agenda. It turns out that in Santiago de Cuba there are already several users who are publishing content within the ecosystem, and we have maintained contact to strengthen ourselves in support, help and inspiration for those who are just starting out.
The creator of this mini-community, @yecier, proposed us to make a monthly meeting to share our latest experiences together in person. We all agreed and this would be the third time (if I'm not mistaken) that we held this meeting. The place set would be the cafeteria "El Don Quixote", which has become the favorite meeting point of most people in the city.
When I arrived, Enrique (@yecier), María de Jesús (@gaviotawriter) and Cipriano (@yoecipri) were already there. We were waiting for a while for others to arrive but for different reasons they could not join. However, that wouldn't stop the meeting from being cancelled.
We ordered several rounds of coffee and pizza to share. Meanwhile, Enrique was explaining to us the doubts we had about different topics related to the blockchain, such as tokens, tags, etc. From one moment to another the topics of conversation were changing, which has become common every time we get together. The main reason was that Enrique gave us several books on different topics, and you can always talk about a world of literature.
Religion, history, culture, archaeology, science and conspiracy theories were some of the categories we touched on while I was still staying at the cafeteria. We spent almost two hours just talking! But that was no cause for tiredness. Moments like this always encourage you to create, to investigate, to keep growing. I think that this community of hivers in Santiago se Cuba has managed to become not only a group of friends, but also a small family.

Ayer fue un día en el que me levanté muy emocionado, pues en mi agenda tenía marcada una cita especial. Resulta que en Santiago de Cuba ya somos varios los usuarios que estamos publicando contenido dentro del ecosistema, y hemos mantenido el contacto para fortalecernos en el apoyo, ayuda e inspiración para aquellos que recién comienzan.
El creador de esta mini-comunidad, @yecier , nos propuso hacer un encuentro mensual para compartir juntos nuestras últimas experiencias de manera presencial. Todos estuvimos de acuerdo y con esta sería la tercera vez (si no me equivoco) que realizamos este encuentro. El lugar fijado sería la cafetería "El Quijote", que se ha vuelto el punto de encuentro preferido de la mayoría de las personas de la ciudad.
Cuando llegué, ya estaban ahí Enrique (@yecier), María de Jesús (@gaviotawriter) y Cipriano (@yoecipri). Estuvimos esperando un rato a que otros llegaran pero por distintas razones no pudieron sumarse. De todas maneras, eso no impediría que el encuentro se cancelara.
Pedimos varias rondas de café y pizza para compartir. Mientras, Enrique nos estuvo explicando las dudas que teníamos sobre distintos temas propios de la blockchain, como los tokens, las etiquetas, etcétera. De un momento a otro los temas de conversación fueron cambiando, cosa que se ha vuelto común cada vez que nos juntamos. La razón principal fue que Enrique nos regaló varios libros de distintas temáticas, y de la literatura siempre se puede hablar un mundo.
Religión, historia, cultura, arqueología, ciencia y teorías y de la conspiración fueron algunas de las categorías que tocamos mientras seguíamoa haciendo estancia en la cafetería. ¡Estuvimos casi dos horas solo conversando! Pero eso no fue motivo de cansancio. Momentos así siempre te animan a crear, a investigar, a seguir creciendo. Pienso que esta comunidad de hivers en Santiago se Cuba ha logrado convertirse no solo en un grupo de amigos, sino además en una pequeña familia.
