Usually my mother, my brother and I agree to give him some cheap present in a symbolic way, because he doesn't like us to spend our money on him. But this year I wanted it to be different, I didn't want it to be a regular Father's Day.....

Hola amigos de Family & Friends! espero esten pasando un excelente dia. El 19 de junio pasado acá en Argentina se celebró el dia de los padres. Por lo general mi madre, mi hermano y yo nos ponemos de acuerdo para regalarle algun presente barato de forma simbolica, porque a el no le gusta que gastemos nuestro dinero en él. Pero éste año queria que sea diferente, no queria que sea un dia del padre regular.....

The plan was as follows, we would meet at my brother's house with his father-in-law and family, while my father was still at work, and we would wait for him to have lunch. Pay attention to my brother's kitten in circle with us hahaha .But meanwhile we were chatting and having breakfast in the sun, since it is winter and it is very cold, eating a "picada" of cold cuts. (Picada is a dish with cold meats, cheeses and snacks, I couldn't find a perfect translation for that very Argentinian term)

El plan era el siguiente, nos juntariamos en casa de mi hermano junto con su suegro y familia, mientras mi padre aun seguia en el trabajo, y lo esperariamos para almorzar. Atentos al gatito de mi hermano en ronda con nosotros jajajja Pero mientras tanto estuvimos charlando y desayunando en el sol, ya que es invierno y hace mucho frio, comiendo una "picada" de fiambres. (Picada es un plato con fiambres, quesos y snacks, no encontré una traduccion perfecta para ese termino muy argentino)

Meanwhile, my brother was in charge of the grill lunch. A roast of meat and offal was slowly cooking over the embers. On the other hand, I already had the salads ready, a Russian potato, carrot, mayonnaise and peas salad, and a carrot, lettuce, cabbage, onion and olive salad.

Mientras tanto, mi hermano estaba encargado del almuerzo a la parrila. A las brasas se estaba cocinando lentamente un asado de carne y achuras. Por otro lado, yo ya tenia listas las ensaladas, una ensalada rusa de papa, zanahoria, mayonesa y arvejas, y una ensalada de zanahoria, lechuga, repollo, cebolla y aceitunas.

It was 3 in the afternoon and my father finally got home from work! We were waiting for him with the table served. It was a real surprise for him, because we had told him that it would be just the 4 of us and we would eat pizza. He was quite surprised and his tired face turned to joy ♥ he immediately ordered a beer and proposed a toast. Lunch started and we were all in silence eating, the barbecue was really delicious, my brother is a very good barbecue. And while the grill was emptying my brother and I looked at each other with complicity, the moment of the gift had arrived.

Se hicieron las 3 de la tarde y mi padre finalmente llegó del trabajo! lo estabamos esperando con la mesa servida. Fue una real sorpresa para el, porque le habiamos dicho que seriamos solo nosotros 4 y comeriamos pizza. Se sorprendió bastante y su cara de cansancio se volvió de alegria ♥ enseguida pidió una cerveza y propuso un brindis. El almuerzo comenzó y todos estabamos en silencio comiendo, el asado estaba realmente delicioso, mi hermano es muy buen asador. Y mientras la parrilla se iba vaciando mi hermano y yo nos miramos con complicidad, habia llegado el momento del regalo.

My dad always worked very hard to be the head of the household, he always taught us that effort is very important and that the family comes first. And whenever he could he showered us with gifts. In fact, today my cell phone and my computers that I work with were gifts from him. The same internet with which I count today. He always gave me his hand so that I can be independent. So I wanted to give back a little all those gifts. He had the same cell phone since 2015! His cell phone no longer took photos because they had been chipped after thousands of falls, the screen was worn out by so many years of fingers, it also had no power button so he had to turn it on and off with a stick. And I constantly had to be formatting it to use whastapp because the operating system was already obsolete. For a long time he was saying that he "needed a cell phone" but he never bought it. So I talked to my brother and taking into account his needs we watched video reviews to buy him a perfect cell phone for him. We delivered it to him and I had never seen him so happy! he really didn't expect it, he scolded us a bit for putting us in such a big expense but the happy face on his face was totally worth it ♥

Mi papá siempre trabajó muy sacrificadamente para ser el jefe de hogar, siempre nos enseñó que el esfuerzo es muy importante y que la familia es lo primero. Y cada vez que pudo nos llenó de regalos. De hecho, hoy en dia mi celular y mis computadoras con las que trabajo fueron regalos de su parte. Mismo el internet con el que hoy en dia cuento. Siempre me dio su mano para que yo pueda ser independiente. Asi que quise devolverle un poco todos esos regalos. El contaba con el mismo celular desde el año 2015! su celular ya no sacaba fotos porque se habian astillado despues de miles de caidas, la pantalla estaba gastada por tantos años de dedos, ademas no tenia boton de encendido asi que tenia que prenderlo y apagarlo con un palito. Y constantemente tenia que estar formateandolo para utilizar whastapp porque el sistema operativo ya era obsoleto. Mucho tiempo estuvo diciendo que "necesitaba un celular" pero jamas lo compró. Asi que hablé con mi hermano y teniendo en cuenta sus necesidades miramos videos de reseñas para comprarle un celular perfecto para él. Se lo entregamos y nunca lo habia visto tan feliz! realmente no se lo esperaba, nos regañó un poco por ponernos en un gasto tan grande pero su cara de felicidad valió completamente la pena ♥

After the abundant lunch... we continued eating haha my mom and I are pastry chefs so of course we had a small sweet table prepared to have a coffee and eat something sweet and tasty. In addition, River Plate played, the team of which we are fans. So we grouped together in front of the TV and watched the game all together, commenting on the plays. And so the afternoon was ending, it was a different Father's Day. Very united, very happy ♥ and I hope it continues like this.

Luego del abundante almuerzo....seguimos comiendo jaja mi mamá y yo somos pasteleras asi que por supuesto teniamos preparada una pequeña mesa dulce para tomar un cafecito y comer algo dulce y rico. Ademas, jugaba River Plate, el equipo del cual somos aficionados. Asi que nos agrupamos frente el televisor y miramos el partido todos juntos comentando las jugadas. Y asi fue finalizando la tarde, fue un dia del padre diferente. Muy unidos, muy felices ♥ y espero que asi siga.
