Hello my dear friends! I hope you're very well. I know that lately I have been a little absent but I tell you that it's for a good cause because I have had the opportunity to be part of 2 choral groups in the church I attend, in which I have been able to share not only with my mother, but I have also made many friends and I have had the opportunity to have a great time, so today I'm here to share this experience with you.
¡Hola, mis queridos amigos! Espero estén muy bien. Se que últimamente he estado un poco ausente pero les cuento que es por una buena causa ya que he tenido la oportunidad de formar parte de 2 grupos corales en la iglesia a la que asisto, en los que he podido compartir no solamente con mi mamá, sino también he hecho muchos amigos y he tenido la oportunidad de pasarla muy bien, así que hoy estoy por aquí para compartir con ustedes esta experiencia.
I have always really liked to sing, and almost a year ago, I had the opportunity to join a new choir with my mother called "Voces de La Candelaria" which, although it is made up mostly of older women (because a 35-year-old member and I are the youngest), it has been a beautiful experience and I have enjoyed it a lot. Although the choir officially began in August of last year, we had our first official performance at Christmas time on December 15, 2023 inside the church. This presentation was an incredible and exciting experience because that afternoon the church was literally full of people and I personally was able to overcome my stage fright. I remember that we had a repertoire of 5 Christmas songs which we rehearsed for months and the results were incredible. Something that I also loved was the costumes which included a white cape which was very in keeping with the season. Below, I share some photographs from that day.
A mi siempre me ha gustado mucho cantar, y desde hace casi un año, tuve la oportunidad de entrar junto a mi mamá a un nuevo coro llamado "Voces de La Candelaria" el cual aunque está conformado en su gran mayoría por señoras mayores (ya que una integrante de 35 años y yo somos las menores), ha sido una hermosa experiencia y yo he disfrutado bastante. Aunque oficialmente el coro comenzó en el mes de Agosto del año pasado, tuvimos nuestra primera presentación oficial en la época navideña el 15 de Diciembre de 2023 dentro de la iglesia. Esta presentación fue una experiencia increíble y emocionante ya que esa tarde la iglesia literalmente estaba full de gente y yo en lo personal pude vencer mi miedo escénico, recuerdo que tuvimos un repertorio de 5 canciones navideñas las cuales ensayamos por meses y los resultados fueron increíbles. Algo que también me encantó fue el vestuario el cual incluyó una capa blanca la cual estuvo muy acorde a la temporada. A continuación, les comparto algunas fotografías de ese día.
Something that I have been able to learn from this experience is to have discipline, responsibility and commitment because being in a choir seems easy but it's not at all, and although I confess that our last performance of the year which was on December 20 was literally failed. We learned a lot from that failure to do our best in our preparation for our next presentation which took place on February 2 and in which we said goodbye to the Christmas season and had the opportunity to pay tribute to the patron saint of the church, the Virgin of La Candelaria adding a new song to the repertoire called "Salve Rociera" which is a very beautiful song. This presentation was another beautiful experience in which we left behind the failure of the last presentation and we were also with the church full of people. Something that I thought was very nice is that we had some guest members from another choir which is also directed by our director but in another parish.
Algo que he podido aprender de esta experiencia, es a tener disciplina, responsabilidad y compromiso ya que estar en un coro se ve fácil pero no lo es para nada, y aunque les confieso que nuestra última presentación del año la cual fue el 20 de Diciembre fue literalmente fallida aprendimos mucho de ese fallo para esmerarnos en nuestra preparación para nuestra siguiente presentación la cual tuvo lugar el 2 de Febrero y en la que despedimos la temporada navideña y tuvimos la oportunidad de rendir homenaje a la patrona de la iglesia la Virgen de La Candelaria agregando una nueva canción al repertorio llamada "Salve Rociera" la cual es una canción muy bella. Esta presentación fue otra hermosa experiencia en la cual dejamos atrás el fallo de la presentación pasada y también estuvimos con la iglesia full de gente. Algo que me pareció muy bonito es que tuvimos algunos integrantes invitados de otro coro el cual también está dirigido por nuestro director pero, en otra parroquia.
This has been a wonderful experience which I hope I can enjoy for a long time until it's time to leave the country. I'm very happy to share this experience in the company of my mother and also to meet new people. For me at first it was difficult since it was very difficult for me to learn to project my voice because our songs are without microphones and being able to hear ourselves in the entire church which is very large and always full of people has been a challenge that we have overcome, So for me it has also been a very enriching experience in which I have learned a lot, and I have also shared with very nice people not only in the presentations but also in the rehearsals.
Esta ha sido una experiencia maravillosa la cual espero pueda disfrutar por mucho tiempo más hasta que llegue la hora de irme del país, estoy muy contenta de compartir esta experiencia en compañía de mi mamá y también de conocer gente nueva. Para mí al principio fue difícil ya que me costaba mucho aprender a proyectar mi voz porque nuestros cantos son sin micrófonos y el lograr escucharnos en toda la iglesia la cual es muy amplia y siempre está llena de gente ha sido todo un reto que hemos superado, así que para mí también ha sido una experiencia bastante enriquecedora en la cual he aprendido bastante, y también he compartido con gente muy agradable no solamente en las presentaciones sino también en los ensayos.
A little over a month ago I had the opportunity to increase my experience by being invited to be part of the main choir of the church which sings at masses every Sunday and is made up entirely of young people and for me it has been a an even more beautiful and quite enriching experience because it has given me the opportunity to meet and share with quite nice guys inside and outside the church who from the beginning have treated me very well and I really feel very comfortable being with them because from the first day they made me feel at home and although I don't have as much experience in singing as they do, their coordinator, who I think is the most talented of all, has taught me and helped me a lot during rehearsals so I don't feel nervous every time we have to sing. Since I have been inside I have really enjoyed the rehearsals, and I have also had the opportunity to spend time with them because they always invite me out, which has given me the opportunity to get to know them and I have had a lot of fun with them. I still haven't had the opportunity to take memories photos during rehearsals or singing, but I do have one from our last outing several nights ago where I really had a great time.
Desde hace un poco más de un mes tuve la oportunidad de aumentar mi experiencia al ser invitada a formar parte del coro principal de la iglesia el cual canta en las misas todos los domingos y está conformado en su totalidad por jóvenes y para mí ha sido una experiencia aún más hermosa y bastante enriquecedora porque me ha dado la oportunidad de conocer y compartir con chicos bastante agradables dentro y fuera de la iglesia los cuales desde el principio me han tratado súper bien y realmente me siento muy cómoda estando con ellos ya que desde el primer dia me hicieron sentir como en casa y aunque yo no tengo tanta experiencia en el canto como la tienen ellos, su coordinador el cual creo que es el más talentoso de todos, me ha enseñado y ayudado bastante durante los ensayos para así no sentirme nerviosa cada vez que nos toca cantar. Desde que estoy adentro he disfrutado mucho los ensayos, y también he tenido la oportunidad de pasar tiempo de con ellos porque siempre me invitan a salir lo que me ha dado la oportunidad de conocerlos y me he divertido bastante con ellos. Todavía no he tenido la oportunidad de tener fotos de recuerdo durante los ensayos o cantos, pero si tengo una de nuestra última salida hace varias noches en la que realmente la pasé genial.
Since I became part of the church with my mother, I have had a great time because not only I had the opportunity to participate in many activities with the apostolates of which I'm part, I have also had the opportunity to meet many people which are truly incredible and it has been very gratifying to form bonds of friendship that I know will last over time. Truly everything has been a great learning experience for me and I'm very happy to have shared this beautiful experience with you.
Desde que entré a formar parte de la iglesia con mi mamá, la he pasado muy bien ya que no solamente he tenido la oportunidad de participar en muchas actividades con los apostolados de los que formo parte, también he tenido la oportunidad de conocer muchas personas las cuales son realmente increíbles y ha sido muy gratificante formar lazos de amistad que se que perdurarán con el tiempo. De verdad que todo para mi ha sido un gran aprendizaje y estoy muy contenta de haber compartido esta hermosa experiencia con ustedes.
