Good day, fellow hiver! Today is an exciting day for me because it happens to be the birthday of my mother's, and being that I and the family did celebrate her in our little possible way, we decided to mark the day, to appreciate her love and care down the years, and to make her feel special and appreciated.
Being a mother is never an easy task, and having to mother five boys can be very draining and exhausting. I can't help but wonder how she manages the situation so well and brings us all up with maximum care and attention. She's one of the best gifts the world has given me, and I'll be forever grateful for that.
Her love and care are second to none, so I couldn't have wished for any other mother than her. I guess we've got a lot of connections, and that's probably why she even named me after herself. Her name is Victoria, and she named me Victor after herself. She once told me she had always envisioned having a daughter and naming her after herself, so when no girl showed up, she decided to name me after herself.
Meat and fish were fried and cooked alongside other meals like Amala, a common food popular among the Yoruba people of Nigeria; there was also white rice and fried rice, among other foods and drinks.
Everyone enjoyed themselves to the fullest, and while eating, we also discussed and reminisced about past events that made us appreciate growth. Laughed and appreciated the privilege of being together once again.
To celebrate her, we decided to have a mini house party to mark the day and put the house in a merry mood. Different varieties of food were to be prepared to make the day enjoyable, so we set out to the market to get all the ingredients that we'd need before beginning the cooking and house party.
At the end of everything, we snapped some photos, mostly of her and the day, also with ourselves and then the grandchildren. It was one of my best days ever, and I am glad it was celebrated with my family.
That's all on how the day went celebrating my mom's birthday, I would love you to send your well wishes and prayers to her.
NOTE: All photos are mine.
Thanks so much for your time. Have a blessed day.
