Hello! Hello! My dear friends, I greet you wishing that everything goes very well in your lives and that this month is full of love, union and home “fixes” 😊🏠. This Monday, following with the proposed topics, I want to talk to you about “how I will show off my home”; yes, in the future, because to reach that goal, I must clarify several things, that's why I will do it in two publications, that is: before and after 😎.
I will start with what I have. My home is beautiful. Building it from scratch (when it was just a piece of land with weeds) to what I have today, makes me love it every day of the world. However, I can't fool myself; just as in the body and our lives, the home needs constant care and maintenance to keep it at its best so we can live in it. And mind you, I'm not talking about changing the furniture every year or buying the latest TV, I'm talking about comfort and convenience with adequate and operative spaces, you know what I mean? In my case, I do not live pending of the material, as long as the equipment fulfills the functions for which they were made, I focus more on a roof that does not get wet, a clean bathroom without dripping, a clean floor, a door that closes .... This obviously involves money, time and knowledge. I have two of them Guess which one I was missing! 🤣.
Current situation. Well, in my home I currently have several problems: 1. The one that I think is the most important to attack is the roof. I have tongue and groove and it is getting wet. I need products to cover it, repair it and prevent the wood from getting wet because changing or replacing it is unthinkable 💲. On the other hand, inside, the roof is worn out, so it needs varnish and the tubes that support its weight, also need paint to leave it beautiful as it once was. 2. The walls. In the urbanization, the problem of humidity is very evident because we live near the river and all the houses are on it, so to fight or live with this has been a challenge; I prefer to fight. On many occasions, I have applied professional paste without success, so I must use a more professional product that eliminates the problem at the root. Also, the walls by manipulation are stained, splattered with grease and when they were done they did not putty them well, so they need a better job, especially finishing. 3. Flooring. At the time I praised the microcemento because I had seen beautiful work! However, the man who applied it did it badly and after several years it is cracked, cracked, some pieces fallen, so I must change it URGENTLY! I have thought about ceramics, but the fact of breaking, moving, and buying I am thinking about other more economical options and that does not involve so much movedera as an overlay or repair the cracks We'll see! Door. My door is a security door and is in good condition, BUT the sun, water and wind have it rusted. I have to fix it, paint it and now “I must not stick anything on it that will damage it” (inside joke not to make up with the door). Kitchen. I have the area destined for it (because if I didn't, I wouldn't eat), but I must make its cabinets, countertop, build in the stove, buy its hood and fix that area well. I don't have a sink either, so that area is important to have a complete and functional kitchen. Other things I must add are some repairs to the bathroom like putting some drawers, curtains or new door, some ornaments that help to renew those spaces; in the case of the laundry room, clean, arrange, place furniture and if I continue, we will not finish today.
- Paredes.
Where am I going to get to? I told them it was not easy, but here we go: I looked for a lot of offers and quotes. I spent days researching, asking around, looking for bargains and finally got the stuff for: * Fix the roof (both above and below). Here I scraped together some money, did the math and bought what I needed. * Walls. I bought the products; one with Cashea and the other one thanks to a credit we got from a public institution. * Kitchen. We got a builder who was recommended to us, and after a lot of walking, I managed to buy all the materials. Today I should be starting. * The door, I also got a neighbor who will do us the favor (of course, a lesser remuneration than an external person would charge). * The floor is missing, but with all those things I have to do I'm still researching it to DO IT ALL! And finally put it in place so I don't get damaged by the materials.
The only thing I can see, is that I'll be caught up with the Christmas dinner painting 🤣, but it's well worth it with everything I have prepared and above all, for how my home will look like after all that😊. So I hope you will follow this path with me and if you have suggestions “before”, I thank you, because many of the things I will do I took from some of your posts; soon, I will give more details 😉.
