You know that feeling of your fears coming to pass, when that feeling comes it can be so overwhelming, most of the time living you in a state of shock, your brain stops working for few seconds because you're still trying to come to terms with what's happening, time at that moment seems to pause or should I say stand still, it's time like this I really do get why most people in movies take time to react when they're about to be hit by an oncoming vehicle, it just takes time for your brain to register an action or movement to take at the moment.
I mean your fears could be in form of a spider, snake, the ceiling fan falling on you while you asleep, falling down the staircase, slipping and falling in a huge gathering, been caught in a fire and there's no escape, been caught in your own lie, untraceable debit from your account, your period coming at a time when you least expect and worse still you're not home, been caught masturbating or having sex by your parents or siblings, burning that food that you bought with the only cash on you etc it could be anything.
Our apartment at my former neighborhood nearly got burnt down one time and for a long time I had what they call "PYROPHOBIA" I used to get instant panic attacks each time I smelled gas anywhere in the house, In my mind all I could think of was maybe we might all just blow up and die, it was that bad and anytime I heard or saw someones house burning I used to have like serious anxiety, sometimes i'd be thinking maybe one of my siblings might slip up and mistakenly leave a burning candle close to anything flammable and our new apartment will just go up in flames, the first and only time it happened to me ( a room in our apartment caught fire) this was at about 2am in the morning and we were all asleep, my elder brother noticed the thick smoke coming from the room and alerted Mum, my mum then woke us up shouting " FIRE FIRE FIRE FIRE"!!!!!!! " Make una come help us ooooo" 😂 it's funny talking about it now but that day it wasn't funny at all because I could feel my heart beating so fast, thinking of so many possibilities that might have befallen us if my brother didn't get to see it on time, we rushed out of our apartment through the back door has the flames were coming from a room that was close to the front door, we all rushed out trying to make sure we were all accounted for and that there was no one Left inside, the entire living room was filled with thick smoke I couldn't even see a thing when we were running towards the back door.
Luckily for us we had really good neighbors who came to our aid then, did I mention my childhood love came by too? 😂😂😂 He came by with a bucket of water to help quench the flames but when he got there all he could do was shout " anybody see Ovbokhan" 😂 (ovbokhan is my tribal) I heard him shout amidst the crowd there that morning "anybody see Ovbokhan" I then shouted "I they here" meaning (I'm here) in English, oh 😂😂😂 did I forget to mention again that I only started to get conscious of my morning breath only after I saw him ?🤣 Well our neighbors and friends from the next street came too, to help put out the fire, thankfully not alot of things were damaged but almost everything in that room was gone. Till this day I'm grateful to everyone that helped out , even though they might not see this but I pray that when they need others to come through for them, God will always send helpers.
In spite of everything that happened till this day, I think on three occasions have almost had a near fire experience, one was when, I was coming back from my boyfriends house at the time and I was going home, the vehicle I boarded started to bring out serious smoke out of nowhere, like I practically went out through the window along with some other passengers following suit 😂, then the other one was when I was pregnant for baby Zayn and my elder brother nearly burnt the house down a day to my twin sisters wedding, it wasn't funny that day but that is another story for another day and the last one happened last month when younger brother left the gas on, meanwhile I was asleep with my baby in the room and he left the house to go see a friend of his, I don't know for some funny reasons I just felt like drinking water and I stood up to go get one from the kitchen when I smelled it , that day I was so scared!!!!!!!! And felt like screaming the house down shouting my brothers name 😂 in all I was able to put the gas off and calm my hyperventilating self and trust me it took a whole hour to get myself because as usual I was thinking of the possibilities of me not knowing and ignoring my urge for drinking water. Anyways we give God the glory.
After I got married I had another phobia 😂 so the shower drain in the bathroom sometimes get clogged with dirt and when it happens like that, it takes time for water to flow through, water then starts to gather in the bathroom and then flows to the room, 😂 that was how it happened one day that I didn't remember to lock the tap and I was sitting outside, the water flowed in to our room, I was overwhelmed that day I had never experienced anything like that in my whole 24 years of being on this earth 😂 and trust me It wasn't fun cleaning up cause it took me almost two hours cleaning because up and I was the only one at home that day. My husband came home and I explained to him all that happened, all he could do was laugh and say I'm lucky it was just the room and it wasn't the whole house, that day I looked at him wide eyed not even taking him serious, thinking in my mind " THAT CAN NEVER BE ME" or so I thought 😂😂😂
So we went through a whole 1years 6months without having any episode like that day happening again but yesterday it seems that tap was just planning for me 😂I opened the tap to pee this morning but it seems there was no water in the tank and we were yet to pump so once again I left the bathroom thinking maybe i had locked the tap pending when we would pump,i had to use water from the kitchen to flush, I did that and went about my daily business, I went to the pharmacy to get some stuffs for myself and took my time strolling back, thinking to myself that I might as well just start the exercise regimen now, if only I knew 😂😂😂😂 I would've taken that "KEKE" ( Keke is a means of transport) I got home and sat in the living room for some few minutes and I started to hear a knock at our back door, immediately I went to the dining area 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 there was no need for me to answer the door I ran straight to the bedroom and lo and behold the room was filled with water, way worse than the first one and it went through from our bedroom, to the lobby, to my kitchen, and from the kitchen to the dinning area, I locked the tap and went to answer the door while still very stunned to speak my neighbor just looked at me and laughed and told me the water flowed to his balcony and down the stairs to my two neighbors balcony downstairs 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 I was too shocked to even speak 😂 that he just said don't worry I'll help you clean up, that was when I could even muster a " thank you" I was practically shaking with the amount of water in the room, kitchen and dining area thinking of when I was going to be done with it, once again it was just me home 😩 I couldn't even snap because I wasn't even thinking straight I cleaned up before I said to myself "no no no I need to share this story here with you guys" so no matter what you do guys make sure your drain is properly cleaned and the tap I'd always locked, infact double check and make sure you know the angle that signifies "LOCKED" on your tap handle . So there you go guys 😂 another phobia UNLOCKED 🔓 😂 What do I refer to it as?
