I have been pondering lately about how people who become successful seemingly early in life go about it, and what they actually did. A lot of the time when they are to talk about how they got there they end up just saying things like "They worked hard, dreamed big, were disciplined, and never backed down" and all these long motivational talks.
All of these things are very correct and necessary, but some, If not most of them leave out key factors that also played roles in their success. Things that not everyone is fortunate to have. For example, an uncle that works in so and so and secured them a starting spot early on, or a wealthy Dad who bought him one of the best sets of tools he used to learn at a tender age, and now he's mastered it and become a success in that field. Things like that are where a lot of success stories come from.
This doesn't In any way take away from the fact that they did what they had to do and became successful. After all, they are a lot of people who also get similar opportunities and eventually waste them. It just means that at times one needs a little bit of luck to be propelled forward.
It is also worth noting that It is a lot easier for success to birth success. A success already knows the values they need to instill in their offspring, and alas they also have the resources to hand that child what is best for them, along with the connections. All that's left is for the child to comply and they become a success as well.
Just like everyone else, I also strive to be a success. I know I have been blessed with one or two things that some people my age don't have available to them. Even the opportunity to be here on hive and have some crypto knowledge is one of them. I wouldn't be here If I didn't ask my cousin what he spent his time doing back then. I Wouldn't be in the crypto space at all, and at times I think of what I'd be doing now. These are opportunities I don't want to take for granted as ultimately these are the "lucky" moments that help to morph perseverance, hard work, discipline, and all that into success.
These set of thoughts was prompted when someone in my class group chat asked "If you had the opportunity to pick any guest speaker of an event (a professional in a top firm) from any field what would you want him/her to speak on?"
And someone said "How they got to where they are...detailsss not some aspire to perspire bs (motivational speech)"
This sparked an interesting discussion and I decided I might as well share my thoughts here.
