Good evening everyone, welcome to my blog.
Is your grandma still alive? Is she still healthy to give you some piece of wisdom? If yes please cherish her.
Mine are late but one of them left words i treasure soo much till this moment and it has helped me in my pathway.
My Grandma was very old when i grew up to understand what life is all about, my cousins didn't really like coming closer to her because she doesn't pamper evil but i was always with her and i can tell you that i have really enjoyed and benefited from applying those words of wisdom from her.
The trend.
During my teenage years there were this group of girls in my village that were intimidating, they did all it takes to get the latest wears and gadgets then, they lived wayward lifestyle and some other girls in our hometown then were influenced to join such lifestyle.
Grandma's words of wisdom to me.
One day we were going to the farm, those groups of girls were going to a village club and they were well dressed, they laughed at me and passed by, i started feeling lonely and sad.
My grandma looked at my face and she smiled.
She dropped her basket and sat on it, i sat down close to her, looking at her mouth intently.
Grandma said in my dialect (Ihe enwere na eju gi afor, obu ya bù ñdu adiri gi) Which means always be content with what you can afford in life, contentment is the key to happiness, success and satisfaction.
She told me her life history and how she became a great woman who was doing well more than her age mates then.
When we got home, she brought out some of her outfits that where outdated and she told how much she bought them when they were trending but currently they are useless, that is how life is.
"If you are contented, patience and cultivate endurance you will get all that is needed to survive and you will be blessed more than your age mate" she said to me.
"It might look tough or rough as you always want to do the right thing but always know that no road is bad to the end" She said to me.
Sadly shes late, this July is the 10th year we lost her, but her words of wisdom have been guiding me till tomorrow.
They are no more trending.
Today I have been a successful woman because of my patience and endurance in life, i have been able to face different challenges and come out successfully because of that spirit of satisfaction with what i can afford.
Sadly those girls in my teens are no where to be found, some are dead while some got married to some irresponsible men who maltreat them, all those trending wears and gadgets and no more the latest, the world have moved on but they are suffering from their wrong decisions in the past.
My grandma will always quote the holy book for me, 1 John 2:16-17
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.source
And you can agree with me that what was important few years back are less regarded today, what people died for years back are not worth dying for today.
Yes Grandma is late but her words of wisdom are not late, they a renewed on daily basis, i wish i can see grandma again to receive more words of wisdom.
I agree with the words that says "What an elder saw sitting down, even if a young person climb of a tree he won't see it because gray hair is a blessing and gift from our creator.
