WORDS OF WISDOM

in #hive-1092884 months ago

Hello everyone, Happy Sunday to you all. Wisdom is the most profitable thing. To leave this life well, we need wisdom. Sometimes we gain wisdom by lessons we learn on our own or by what an elder passes to us. I want to talk about the piece of wisdom I was gifted by an elder when I was a teenager and how it happened.
When I was in senior secondary school during my teenage years, an announcement was made for students who wanted the post of a prefect to come and contest for it. When I heard this, I had an urge within me to go and contest for it. I wasn't the smartest kid in school, though, but I was intelligent. So many kids who were smarter and richer than me in school contested for the post. When I saw this, I felt discouraged; I felt I wouldn't be able to get it; I wasn't a bold student after all; there was no way I was going to win. I had so many doubts.

When I got home, there was an older lady who lived close to us. She was a teacher and was always fond of me. She observed my mood and inquired about it. I told her everything, and she told me,Nne," as she fondly calls me, "don't let fear, discouragement, and shyness make you lose great opportunities; you never know you can do it unless you try;Instead of shying away from opportunity, rather accept it and try your best, and you will see how great you are, because in life you never know the reason that little opportunity was given to you and where it will take you.
With this advice in mind, I went to our principal's office the next day to tell him I would love to join the contestant. He agreed, and the day of the performance came. I was surprised at how bold I was. I answered all the questions correctly and smartly, and after everything, I won the position of assistant school prefect. I was glad I spoke to that woman, and I didn't miss that opportunity.
Even after graduation, this advice has impacted my life greatly. I have been able to learn many things through many opportunities I have been given. I never let good opportunities pass me by, even if I have never done it before, but I always make sure I try my best.

This is the benefit we enjoyed growing up with the elderly around us. They're always marking our footsteps to know and to correct our errors. Thanks for sharing.

Yes dear ,we learn many things from them, including our cultures

Beautiful words of wisdom you've acquired, fear truly limits greatness and once we face it, we build more confidence in ourselves.

Yes my dear, nothing great comes easily

Hello, my friend. Your choice of words is very in line with the topic of this prompts focus. But as I look across the trail you are creating on your blockchain journey, I'm seeing several bumps in the road. I'm not trying to over step @marynn as she should be the one guiding you, having delegated you Hive Power, to allow you to start your journey. But since you are posting in MY community... I'll give you a few suggestions...
You must always be sure to read the guidelines of each community you are posting in. The use of AI for your words, is STRICTLY forbidden... on our blockchain, and many other platforms. ALWAYS show the correct sources of images you use; original content is the best on our blockchain... Stating that the images are yours is always the right thing to do. Otherwise... Like you have learned here, using the proper images if they are NOT yours is best. If you are using a Translator... You should let your readers know as well.
If you make mistakes...Editing a second post that was accidentally submitted... Clearing all contents from within it, and replacing it with "This was a mistake due to network problems" would be best. Be sure of your footing, before you go stepping on unknown ground... Understand?

I still haven't seen a correction on your part. This is the post that I was referring to:

Accidents happen. But I have given you the solution to fix this error. Making this correction would prove to @galenkp that you care about posting in his community, as well as the digital footprint that you are leaving on our blockchain. Again... I am only interacting with you here, in my community, out of respect.

Please i really appreciate that,i have corrected it,i wasnt aware u were referring to that since it was already muted

Muting does not remove a post. Nor does it keep you from posting in whatever respective community your post is muted in. I basically hides your content at first glance. Again... I'm not a part of the weekend experience community staff. But better to fix the reason you were muted to begin with... Yes? Well done...

Thanks so much, there are still a lot of things i don't understand yet, since @maryann is not active here for now, things like the number i see on my profile picture sometimes reduce sometimes its increase, what ecency points are used for,i was asked to choose witnesses i don't understand how,but i really appreciate you for the help and suggestions,Thanks
