We ended up with 37 entries being written for the contest (two unfortunately too late to make the submission deadline). This meant that 35 entries were submitted to Dreemport on the dedicated contest submission date, comprising a mix of discursive essays, short stories, and poetry.
Entries were then curated by public curators (which includes anyone who chose to log in to Dreemport the following day and do a random curation of 5 posts). These public curation results then provided the dreem-wotw grading teem with a shortlist of the public's favourite entries for the contest, and these were eligible to be graded for official dreem-wotw rankings.
Dreemport publishes a top 5 every day and in this case we ended up with 6 non-staff entries vying for the top spots as there was a tie in the popular vote for 5th spot.
We also extracted the top staff entries for a separate staff pool of dreem-wotw prizes 😊
There was an interesting mix of articles, short stories, and poetry. Some connected emotionally with the reader, some prompted loud guffaws of laughter with their humour, and others still prompted deep introspection. All were appreciated.

The team gave voluntarily of their time and worked entirely independently of each other when deciding on their own scores for each written piece. Scores were submitted to a single source for collation of the final results. Preliminary results were then shared with the full grading team to ensure complete transparency and to give everyone the opportunity to discuss the outcomes. It was clear from the results that there was general consensus on the final placements and no issues were raised 😊
