We ended up with 27 entries being written for the contest and submitted to Dreemport on the dedicated contest submission date, comprising a mix of discursive essays, short stories, and poetry... I hope that those who did not make it this time, will consider joining in for round 3. 🤗
Entries were then curated by public curators (which includes anyone who chose to log in to Dreemport the following day and do a random curation of 5 posts). These public curation results then provided the dreem-wotw grading teem with a shortlist of the public's favourite entries for the contest, and these were eligible to be graded for official dreem-wotw rankings.
Dreemport publishes a top 5 every day and in this case we ended up with 5 non-staff entries and 6 staff entries vying for the top spots in their respective grading pools.
I am sure that most would agree that the standard was very high this month, with a great selection of articles, short stories, and poetry, and in the end, every scoring point truly counted! The engagement metric, which requires writers to come back the day after submissions, and to curate the contest posts in Dreemport (your random 5 posts allocated to you) in order to earn the minimum points for engagement, made the difference between some of the placement positions in the end. So, please remember, if you enter the contest, come back and curate, rank, and engage with the entries, and in so doing, have a direct say in which posts make the Dreemport top 5, and which ones are therefore shortlisted for grading for dreem-wotw 😊
The grading team of 7 graders consists of:
@samsmith1971 @alekst7 @wrestlingdesires @juliamulcahy @iskafan @itsostylish @palomap3 (this month @iskafan was unable to grade for personal reasons).
The graders voluntarily give their time and work entirely independently of each other when deciding on their own scores for each written piece. Scores are submitted to a single source for collation of the final results. Preliminary results are then shared with the full grading team to ensure complete transparency and to give everyone the opportunity to discuss the outcomes. It was clear from the results that there was general consensus on the final placements and no issues were raised 😊
Prize sponsorships as follows:
Dreem tokens kindly and generously sponsored by @dreemsteem
Ecency points and POB tokens funded by the rewards generated off the contest posts, with any shortfall funded by myself.
Although upvotes and reblogs are not required to enter the contest, any and all support, to keep the contest sustainable and growing, is very much appreciated, and the more support we can garner, the better the prizes that we will be able to offer over time.
