Pause. Breathe again. You probably have been moving forward too fast, and you're missing out on the important details of your life. Always remember "Haste makes waste".
Look straight ahead. Like a horse's blinders. Focus on what's on your own plate, we may be in the same boat but my journey isn't your journey and yours isn't mine. Comparison is only healthy if you take them as an inspiration, a target, or a goal for your own.
Shut off. Our minds are fragile and delicate and we should protect them at all costs. Biologically speaking our brain is well protected by our hard skulls for a reason. So turn off those that affect your perception in a negative way.
We are not trees. It would be awesome if my whole existence, I could just stand in one place, close my eyes, feel the breeze, get rained on, and sway with every gush of the wind, but I'm not a tree and so are you, so move especially if you don't like where you are.
Ego. If at this point you're feeling judged, maybe it's your ego hurting you, not you, by word manipulation, changing ~~judgement~~ to constructive criticism is self-help too. Many times we think we know all things and at the point of seeing or hearing, from someone who's more intellectual or knowledgeable than us, we raise our eyebrows and take what they say as an offense, then that leaves a question, when are you gonna be wrong?
"One of the painful signs of years of dumbed-down education is how many people are unable to make a coherent argument. They can vent their emotions, question other people's motives, make bold assertions, repeat slogans - anything but reason." - Thomas Sowell
Check your focus. 'You are what you eat' if you take these words literally, well, it's true, what you feed yourself manifests physically. This also applies to what you feed your mind affects you mentally. Ask yourself do you love watching endless fantasy dramas? Are you hooked on the world's problems and making them your problem? Do you care more about the issues of celebrities or idols rather than yours?
Relax, it's nothing personal. Most of the time we think certain places are toxic, or someone is too toxic for us, but don't you think it's probably all within us? Change starts within and eventually in our surroundings and expands to change our own reality.
Stop comparing. Stoicism states, 'Comparison is the thief of all joy'. Evidently enough when you look at yourself in the mirror and tell your insecurities, your wants, hate, and your desires. You will realize you have been comparing yourself to others more often than not. Life is simple and it is not a competition.
If you find yourself lost, maybe all you needed is a self-assessment. A better understanding of our own situation can lead us to a better life. Identifying the problem is a better approach than focusing on wanting to grasp the things that are far-fetched and unachievable. Knowing that you can never skip steps brings about humble beginnings. The key is the Process and the turns it needed to go to before reaching its endpoint.
At some point in our lives, we should learn to accept things as it is, widen our understanding, be unselfish, stop playing the victim game, stop blaming, and learn that pain is part of the process of growth, and it will never be about what you see. It's all about how you want to see it. This is dedicated to all the overthinkers who are giving up on life too early and finding despair over hope.
Cheers!
