- And those longnails?
- To play the Arp!
- And those boops?
- To Support the Arp!
Hello friends, today I want to show you a vignette I made inspired by my Venezuelan Plains Harp classes at the Juancho Querales School in Carora.
In the first class the teacher told me I had to grow my nails very long to be able to play the harp and so I did, so I thought it would be cool to paint them black because I like the gothic aesthetic, but since I live in a small and somewhat conservative city I didn't dare to put up with people's possible reactions, instead it occurred to me to make a comic about a trans harpist who uses playing the harp as an excuse to make his physical transition, since long nails are commonly associated with the feminine and the world of llanera music to physical strength and manhood.
I used pencil for the original drawing on a letter-size white sheet of paper.
I scanned the drawing and edited it in photoshop to make the whites transparent and color them.
Finally, I applyed layers of color with the Adobe Illustrator program using my Wacon graphic tablet. I hope you like the drawing and give me your opinion about it.
