In this last week the Venezuelan economy is living a catastrophe, if you can call it that way; For nobody is a secret that in my country Venezuela coexist two currencies, one official which is the Digital Bolivar, and the other is the U.S. dollar, which although it is not official is dominating the market in the last five years, and has registered a huge rise with respect to the bolivar, that is, every day the bolivar loses more value, In my particular case I am a public worker and I depend on a biweekly salary in bolivars, which this last week has become as we colloquially say in Venezuela "salt and water", which means that it dissolved easily (I have not yet received it hahaha).

The dollar in Venezuela is managed with two different values, you may think, how is that, if a dollar does not change its value! We are clear about that, but that is the way many Venezuelans think, without realizing that what is happening is that our so called Digital Bolivar is depreciating every day; One of the values of the dollar is given by the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV) and the other called parallel dollar has a value given by unofficial pages where an average is made with reference to "different important entities and electronic markets inside and outside the country" as stated in their publications, this is updated twice a day from Monday to Friday, at 9 am and 1 pm.

Today I wanted to unburden myself and make my catharsis, since these last 3 days there has been a rise without brake, the parallel dollar page, without leaving behind the BCV dollar that went from to , being this the new value stipulated by the authorities for the use of trade, something that is fulfilled in quotation marks, This is something that is fulfilled in inverted commas, because yesterday afternoon in my city most of the establishments were closed to recalculate prices, today giving a not encouraging surprise for the Venezuelans who still depend on a salary in bolivars, because as it is always said the consequences are paid by the final consumer.

Today I noticed something very particular, that businesses that a couple of days ago were giving prices in dollars, are now giving prices in bolivars and this is because when converting it into dollars they have to do it with the BCV rate, so the consumer has to pay more dollars; the truth is that you have to live it to understand it better hahaha. This is where many say "we sell the dollars at a parallel price and pay BCV" obtaining a difference in favor, because in my city it is difficult to get dollars in cash at BCV price.

Now, in a country where more than a third of the population are public employees, that is to say, doctors, nurses, teachers, policemen, workers, among other professions; in addition to other workers belonging to the informal commerce, whose earnings are bolivars and that every day that passes their capital is less, this has become total madness.

This is a topic that has a lot to talk about, but I am not an economist, I just want to share my experiences, I am still betting for my country and I hope that one day very far away this will remain as a bad memory, another of the many obstacles that we have had to overcome the people who have decided to stay in our country.

I say goodbye with a phrase that has become very popular in recent days SAVE THEMSELVES WHO CAN; it will be until a new opportunity your friend Drhueso.
