El día de ayer martes 13/09/22 me dirigí a la universidad donde cursé mis estudios en horas de la mañana a llevar una serie de documentos que la institución solicita para completar mi expediente para la entrega de títulos. Previamente a eso en días anteriores solicité y pagué por la realización de dos constancias pertinentes a la carpeta de documentos que debía entregar (Constancia de culminación y constancia de notas), y en ese momento que las retiré inmediatamente comencé a leer y noté que mi nombre estaba mal escrito, al igual que en mi certificado de pasantías.
Yesterday, Tuesday 13/09/22, I went to the university where I studied in the morning to bring a series of documents that the institution requests to complete my file for the delivery of degrees. Prior to that, in previous days, I requested and paid for the completion of two certificates pertinent to the folder of documents that I had to deliver (Proof of Completion and Certificate of Notes), and at that moment that I withdrew them I immediately began to read and noticed that my name it was misspelled, just like on my internship certificate.

Esto es algo por lo que siempre he tenido problemas, y está vez no pasó de desapercibido. Mi nombre es Vanessa Valentina Arenas Salazar y como lo notan, mi primer nombre se escribe con doble "S" y mi primer apellido con "S" al final. Normalmente sufro más por el apellido que en la mayoría de los casos lo escriben sin la respectiva "S" al final, pero en esta oportunidad fue por mi nombre Vanessa estaba escrito en todos las constancias con una sola "S".
This is something I've always had trouble with, and this time it didn't go unnoticed. My name is Vanessa Valentina Arenas Salazar and as you can see, my first name is written with a double "S" and my first last name with an "S" at the end. Normally I suffer more because of the last name that in most cases they write it without the respective "S" at the end, but this time it was because of my name Vanessa, it was written in all the records with a single "S".
Por supuesto que al darme cuenta de esto, fue a control de estudio y puse la queja, y ni ellos mismos entendían el porque en algunos de mis papeles salía mi nombre bien escrito y en otros no por lo que decían "¿qué le pasaría a esta gente". Resulta que alguno de los otros papeles no eran expedidos por el sistema y simplemente escribieron bien mi nombre porque sabían que así se escribía, pero otros si eran expedidos por el sistema, tales como las constancias y certificados que mencioné. Al poner la queja, no admitieron ninguno de los papeles y tuve que proceder a solicitarlos nuevamente para su corrección, además de hacer realizar otra vez todo el trabajo de sacar copias, escanear y subir al sistema de la universidad dichos documentos.

It turns out that some of the other papers were not issued by the system and they simply spelled my name correctly because they knew it was written that way, but others were issued by the system, such as the proofs and certificates that I mentioned. When I filed the complaint, they did not admit any of the papers and I had to proceed to request them again for their correction, in addition to having all the work of making copies, scanning and uploading said documents to the university system again.
Lo importante de todo esto es que me di cuenta a tiempo, y coloque la queja para la corrección y solución de mi problema en el sistema. De no haber hecho esto, corría el riesgo, que seguramente iba a ser muy seguro, de que me otorgaran mi título con mi nombre mal escrito, lo que sería un terrible problema y mucho más complejo de solucionar. Si en un título de pre-grado o post-grado tiene un error, que normalmente los más comunes son en la escritura de los nombres y apellidos, los mismos no admiten modificaciones o enmienda, por lo tanto cualquier error que pueda tener implica su nulidad. Es decir, de no haber corregido este error y dormirme en los laureles como dicen, podría sufrir la consecuencia de que mi título fuese anulado automáticamente.

That is, if I had not corrected this error and rested on my laurels as they say, I could suffer the consequence of my title being automatically annulled.

De todo esto me queda por decirles que en cualquier tramitación que estén realizando o vayan a realizar, tómense el tiempo necesario para leer con detenimiento y solucionen los problemas antes de que sea muy tarde y puedan convertirse en algo peor.
