My response to this week's Hive Naija's weekly prompt
A lot of us may celebrate Christmas, and some of us may not. Either way, the holidays will soon begin. What are your plans for it? Do you plan to spend a lot or do you have other financial engagements that will prevent that? We'd love to hear all about your December plans.
To begin with, I have plans for this Christmas holiday, including a lot of engagements from the office, friends, and family.
Engagement from office
As we all know, 99% of private companies hold end-of-year parties. It could be an indoor party, meaning that the party will happen in the office or office premises, or an outdoor party, where we get to go to an open-space garden or a big lounge.
Apart from the general office party, various departments in the company will also hold departmental parties. I plan to attend all the departmental parties apart from my own. I don’t need to pay anything; it is just for me to make myself available for fun and food.
So last year, our end-of-year party was held in a big lounge, and other departments held their party at the beach. It was really interesting, and I had so much fun, but unfortunately, I could not attend all the parties due to the program I had in church this year. I have already planned myself and also made plans to attend all the parties, which hopefully will be more fun and interesting than last year.

Plans With Friends
So my friends and I had this holiday plan from the beginning of the year to travel down to one of the most beautiful states in Nigeria, Ibom Resort in Akwa Ibom State. Apart from the resort, we plan to attend the Calabar festival in Cross River State, not too far from Akwa Ibom.
The carnival is held every December, and it was declared by the governor of Cross River State as an activity to mark the Christmas celebration every year. A lot of foreigners come from different countries to attend the festival; a lot of beautiful activities are showcased, such as their traditional delicacies, cultural dances, and other cultural activities; and a lot of top artists and celebrities perform. I am anxiously waiting to attend this event because I have always watched it on television and seen how colorful and beautiful it is.
I don’t plan to spend much; all the expenses will be divided among me and my friends in terms of hotel, feeding, and transportation. In terms of shopping, I think I will be spending more.
Plans with Family
Family is what we can't do without. Apart from the family gathering during this holiday, I plan to take my family to the photo studio to snap family picture portraits where everyone will be visible. Also, I know we all like swimming, so we will organize a swimming hangout where we will do a little swimming competition game with prizes and just have a great memory together.
I can still plan other outings for the holiday if I still have enough resources and funds. Thanks for reading
