Hivenaija weekly prompt
Guide a newbie to set a better Hive goal... Share your own three important tips a newbie on Hive should know as they start the coming new year.
Hive Blockchain is a decentralized network of nodes and a community-driven blockchain platform designed for content creation and social media. and it content reward system that users create and curate through the platform's native cryptocurrency. Content creators and curators earn rewards based on the popularity and quality of their contributions.
A lot of people have struggled with the platform and ended up abandoning it. As for me, a lot of things helped shape me on this platform, which I will share shortly.
Tips That Helped Me
Research and understand the blockchain
To use me as an example, when I first joined the platform, my goal was to generate money since that is what caught my interest. I got onboarded and wrote my introductory post, and it got quite an upvote. I was so excited and hoping to keep it rolling like that and motivated, but it got to a point where I wasn't seeing upvotes, and I got tired, and my morale dropped, and I stopped writing because the motivation was gone, even though I still don't understand the platform well.
This is a very important step to take because it will be what guides you through one's journey. Apart from what we have been told about the platform, it is very pertinent to know what it entails. This will also help one come across other benefit on the platform that were not really clear or shared
I changed my mindset and returned to the platform, looking for additional opportunities and networking rather than the money. I then began to learn more about the platform and began to grasp it better than before.
As a rookie, I will recommend you modify your perspective about Web3, study it, and keep developing; it is a long-term investment, not a fast fix.
Engagement
I also lacked this tip; all I did was write and post and expect people to upvote me without engaging in the posts in the various communities I joined. This engagement will help you to be noticed; it will not be a quick one, but if you are consistent, there will be a day you will be noticed and a particular person might just go to your profile and see your blogs. I didn't realize it at first, but it's critical to comment, upvote, participate in community prompts, and do a variety of other things.
Dedication
We all have one or two things we were doing before we arrived on this platform, so we don't have an excuse for not prospering when we need to spend a certain period on this and see what we can become, much like creating a schedule and making sure you reach your set target for the day. As an amateur, try to create a blog post every day. Believe me, writing is not simple when you're a newbie; you'll battle to compose something or decide what to write about if you're not a professional writer. I've developed the habit of writing here, and it sometimes takes me an entire day just to compose one post. But today I have the idea of writing, and I can come up with something and write within 30 minutes. It only gets better when you keep doing it, just like this saying says: practice makes perfect.
Conclusively, these are things that have shaped and helped me to date. I am not there yet, but as the day goes by, I am getting closer.
