This might sound funny, but as at yesterday, I couldn't think of any quote that has resonated deeply with me and I took everywhere I went. So, obviously, I didn't know what to write on although I knew deep down that there must have been quotes I found really inspiring. I just couldn't think of any and even till now, I cannot remember even with the fact that I know there is one or two. However, the universe brought this quote to me when I was scrolling through Instagram earlier today. The guy was making an anology and ended it with this quote;
"If you have everything you need before you start, you started too late"
It sounded like it was directed to me because I kind of deal with creating perfect scenarios in my head to do certain things. I constantly try to remind myself that life doesn't work that way and you have to make do with whatever you have and with whatever resources you can lay your hands on. Those baby steps to take each day is what will eventually take you to that perfect picture you have visualized. The best thing you can do for yourself as a person is to live in the moment and make the best out of it.
Let me use myself as an example. I have a goal this year to get my own apartment and I have a picture how I want it to be like. Infact, I know within me that I will be super productive when I have my own space and I get to decide what I wwant to do with my time. I will have setups for my prodyct photography and I might even finally start my YouTube Channel. Honestly, there are some things I have kinda boxed myself to be only able to achieve when I get to that phase of my life, and there are some things I cannot afford to allow to wait till that time before I get on them. I would take those baby steps and do them imperfectly until I can do them the exact way I really want them done. I simply cannot wait till I have everything I need in place before I get started on my goals, that won't be really smart of me.
This quote doesn't also mean that there is a time frame to growth or productivity, our journeys are entirely different and what works for A might not work for B. Even if you start late, keep going and keep your eyes on the prize. The major lesson to take away from the quote is simply that the perfect time to get anything done doesn't exist and you should just get started right away. Starting small and staying consistent will definitely pay off in most cases. I have seen consistency change people's lives, it is always very beautiful to see. I have seen people grow so much from starting really small and when they look back at how long they have come, it is always an emotional moment.
So basically, you have to go grab whatever you want from this life, you can't wait for it to come to you. Life simply doesn't work that way and you can't bank your life on luck, that won't be very smart too. So yeah, I found this quote today and it resonated deeply within me.
This quote is quite similar (on another level) to this one I remembered just now, from Nightbirde at one of the AGT shows. She said "You cannot wait until life isn't hard anymore before you decide to be happy". Deep right? I think I will frame that someday🙂
Thank you for reading ❤️
