My dad had a nightmare yesterday which made him make scary sounds from his sleep. I had to rush to his room to tap him back to consciousness, I was so scared. So, the whole thing made me question the concept of dreams all over again and that is what birthed this post. I have actually always been curious about how dreams work, but then, it is obviously one of the mysteries of this life. Some things are just hard to explain, we just have to accept their existence without too much questions. Asking the questions isn't even a problem, but the problem is that one might never find the answers -- maybe just theories by science.
In the course of thinking of writing this post, I thought about the scariest dreams I have had in the past. I remember this particular time I was not feeling well, I was close to fainting earlier than day and my temperature got so high I had to be driven to the hospital. Later that night, I slept and had this bad and scary dream about me dying. I was so sad from the dream and I woke up to me in tears, I couldn't control it. It felt so real and the way the emotions I felt in the dream followed me to reality is quite fascinating.
We could easily explain that our dreams can somehow be connected to our brains and our emotions in general. For instance, you might dream about something that has been bothering you or about someone that has been on your mind. This brings me to wondering why we sometimes have random dreams, which might not even connect with anything in our lives, or potray a particular meaning. There is a saying in my culture that says 'dreams are quite foolish' and that one shouldn't pay too much attention to them. However, there are some people that believes some much in dreams, there are some that believe that have the gift of dreams as well.
In all, this world is just a really fascinating place to be, so many mysteries and wonders that are hard to unravel. Dreams make it look as if there is a world existing somewhere else, lol. I guess this is me just thinking out loud about my curiosity.
Have you also thought about this before and did you come to a particular conclusion?
I know science defenitely will have a theory about dreams and honestly, I have never tried to check them out, I guess I will do that now.
Do you think dreams actually hold meanings to them or it's just what one should overlook?
Personally, I feel like some do have meanings attached to them and some, I just cannot explain, lol. Trust me, some dreams can be very confusing, there will be too many plots happening at once, lol. There are some dreams that one wouldn't even remember, those ones are the funniest🤣
