Hello Hivers... Hope you are doing great? I chose this topic because stress is the root of issues people are passing through today. If handled correctly will make the world a better and happier place.
To deal with stress effectively, I most time consider physical health, the way I interact with others and also, my goals and priorities in life.

Causes of Stress

  • Fear and uncertainty.
When you regularly hear bad news, the threat of terrorist attacks, global warming, and toxic chemicals, it can cause you to feel stressed, especially because you feel like you have no control over those them. And even though disasters are rare happening, their clear coverage in the media may make them seem as if they are more likely to occur than they really are. Fears can also hit closer to home, such as being worried that you won't finish a project at work or meet up the target, fear of been retrenched, or won't have enough money to pay your bills for the month, fear of losing a friend or family members that have been sick for a long time

  • Unrealistic expectations.
No man is perfect. Perfection is in the hands of God. If you expect to do everything right all the time, you're destined to feel stressed when things don't go as expected.

  • Disheartening happenings, such as a divorce, major financial setback, or death in the family or friends can be important causes of stress.
Your stress level however, will differ based on your personality and how you respond to situations. Some people let everything roll off their backs. To them, work stresses and life stresses are just minor bumps in the road. Others literally worry themselves sick.

To Deal with Stress, Consider the Following.

  • Know what stresses you
Maintaining calmness by avoiding negative emotions, can cloud clear thinking. As a person, I don't always think straight when am stressed. When you are stressed, you should always take note of your feelings, thoughts, and behavior, perhaps making records of them. By been conscious of your response to stress, you may be able to deal with it better.

Consider this three suggestions 👇
a. Do not be quick to assume bad motives.
For instance, a person may cut ahead of you in a line, if you concluded his/her act to rudeness, you may become unhappy. Why not assume his or her motives was good? You may be correct

b. Keep the big picture in mind
Ask yourself, will this problem be a big issue tomorrow, next week or next month?
Distinguishing between minor issues and more serious ones.

c. Be positive on all sides
Positive mindset helps to eliminate stress.
For example, A long wait at the doctor's office, airport or an an appointment is easier to bear if you use the time to do some reading or playing games with your phone while waiting will help you to stay patience and maintain calmness

  • Live one day at a time
Daily anxieties are part of life. I try as much as I could to stop worrying about tomorrow. Tomorrow will be fine, I don't let the worries of tomorrow steal the beauty of my today. Try to live one day at a time. Note that, some stress are inevitable but fretting over things you cannot prevent increases your stress.

  • Set Reasonable Standard
Avoid setting unrealistic goals for yourself.
Be modest, set reasonable standards and know your limits. Living to please your boss, family or friends is not it, when you do this, you will reduce stress drastically and even achieve greater success.
