If there is anything I’m grateful for in 2024, it's the friends I made and the ones I already have. I entered 2025 with my heart full because I am sure of the people I have in my corner.
Most of the friends I made in 2024 are online and the few I made offline, well, we haven’t gotten that close yet. But I did rekindle something with people I used to be friends with. I may not have made the best of friends in 2024, but I did meet people who helped me one way or the other. Be it here on Hive or outside it, I had conversations with different people and some of these conversations blew my mind.
Offering to help him, I never imagined that I would end up being friends with Sir Ray, known as Raymondspeaks on Hive. I never imagined I would find myself on a different axis of the Hive Blockchain filled with people who drink truth serum for breakfast and talk about spinning hand techniques. Let’s just say that the banter is not very limited and the jokes can grate your nerves if you are too sensitive. Humour at its finest with ugly wings, that’s what I call it.
Then we have the City that housed a lot of drama from shots fired to Anonyi express. All good vibes too and I met quite the characters. From playboys to people who call themselves goats, and not to mean greatest of all time but an actual goat. Men are baby girls and ladies are she-males. A very fun place to be.
Then I met this reserved figure, here on Hive. He is the type that could sneak up on you because he barely makes any sound. That and his tutus. He loves his tutus and pink horses. He is also a good friend as long as you understand his humour. Hehe…
And then there is this lady I met during one of my many trips to the nail salon. She was such a free spirited person and we got talking as though we have been friends for years. She knew how to keep the conversation going which somehow rubbed off on me who would normally be quiet and prefer to listen. I began to talk as well and what do you know, turned out we both have similar interests. I hope to introduce her to Hive this year as she is also a writer and from talking, I could tell she had a beautiful mind. There are little things as satisfying as meeting a fellow woman who is in her feminine aura but exudes strength at the same time. She tickled my heart a bit.
Of course, I am very much aware of my friends who followed me into 2025. My woman, Jhymi and that cuddly grumpy man, Tengo. Thanks to you guys, 2024 was not totally bleak. For this year, I’ll keep my mind open as always and look forward to meeting new people. They don’t have to stay in my life, learning through/from my interactions with them is enough for me. I believe experiences shape us, and not just experiences surrounding us but that of other people. So, cheers to 2025.
