PUT YOUR SELF FIRST I will be as straight foreward about this as possible, you see many of us have actually fallen into this human ploy of assisting others even to our own detriment, this weeks prompt is one that basically everyone of us have fallen victim of, especially in our current economic situation were saying no is really difficult, because we understand what it means to survive the times, most of us have gone beyond ourselves to render help, made sacrifices, to people who are in dare need, vouch for them, trust them to come through with their side of the bargain but they fail.
I understand that this, most times when people come to you for some help or assistance at that point they are well genuine and down to earth sincere and honest to you of course they are but soon after their needs are met, another priority takes over, coming to say repay that loan becomes burdensome to them because other things have taken their priority, it means trying to resolve whats at stack first before attending to other matters.
Put yourself first, i'm not saying be selfish, or stingy or don't render help what i'm implying is that weigh the options available to you at that point, when going all out to assistant what are the odds for or against you, what if this person defaulted, what if the agreed date is not met, whats at risk.....
SET PRIORITIES...Its like saying you have an uncle who is a bigman in the city and most times yoir mind goes to him to render help to you, but usually end up disappointed because he or she turned you down, many of us too have been disappointed as well, the fact is that uncle might not really be that stingy, but he simply places priorities over his funds, i personally believe no one has some free or idle money lying somewere, they are all meant for something, in any desperate times someone can reach out to you for help, you can run through your scale and find the need that is less demanding and help out, but place a margin to it.
BE SMART WITH PEOPLE Of course You can't possibily carry the weight of the world on your shoulder, do what you can do and leave the rest, know your limit, if someone comes to you for a need say demanding 100% of the funds for it, ask how much of that 100% does he or she has then you can know the margin of your funds to lend out, depending on your capacity to help.
BE PRUDENT AND WISE WITH YOUR FUNDS
I'm not really a guru or some financial experts who know so much about money or about how to manage your funds just reeling from my past experiences and most of them the lessons i have learnt so far, i know most of us all have face setbacks disappointment from those we trust at high esteem, however we can derive a lesson or two from these post...
