Story Time: I met people I never know on web2 and they turn out to be on hive

In the vastness of life, we are all wanderers, bound not by the places we come from, but by the stories we carry. Beneath the layers of culture, language, and circumstance, there exists a shared essence—a yearning to belong, to be understood, and to find joy in connection.

There was a particular time in my life when I wanted to meet people on hives so badly because of the connection and interaction we have daily. The conversation on Discord, the comment section, and other Web2 platforms has always been one of my dreams. I stayed in a city where I had no friends on hives, so I just gave up the dream and continued to be friends with the ones I knew. Some are in my country, while others are far away.

The way fate works is mysterious, and it turned out that fate brought two people by way of 2024 whom I never expected to be this close, and the shocking part was that both of them were in hives. These are people I haven't interacted with on Hives or Discord.

The First: Tomiwa

I met Tomiwa on another social media platform; we were not friends. Most of the time, I view her post and drop a funny comment on it. She was always happy with my comments, and as time went on, we became very frequent on each other's comments. I would wait to see what she would like to talk about on a new day so I could drop a comment that would put a smile on her face; she would do the same, and we would become quite close.

As time went on, we started chatting on Snapchat, getting to know more about each other, and our friendship grew. One day, she said to me, "You must be a writer with the way you type and talk because you are a sweet talker."

I laughed at this because she was right—I am a writer. I told her she was right and I'm a writer; she started asking questions until Hive popped out. "Wait, you mean you are on hives too?" was the question she asked, and I answered with a question, "Do you know about hive?" Are you on Hive also?"

It turned out she was also on Hive but hadn't been active for a while due to some reasons. I was happy to talk about the hive to her and hope she comes back.

The Second: @amuma29

The fact that you can be recognized anywhere, no matter how private you are, shows how important it is to live a good life. Amuma was just scrolling through TikTok when she saw my comment on a video and recognized me immediately.

She's a friendly person but hasn't been active in the hive because she was robbed and hasn't gotten a new device to continue what she loves to do. We spoke for a long time, she has her account keys with her and will be back immediately after she has a new device. Currently, she's using a borrowed phone to chat on social media for her business until she gets her own.

There you go. Those are the two amazing friends I made in 2024 who still surprised me.

I’m sorry that Anuma had to experience such an awful thing. I hope she gets that device soon.

Wait a bit, Big Fash, do you mean the same Tomiwa we both know or another Tomiwa? Also, I’m sorry about Amuma, and I hope she gets a new device and starts posting on Hive again. We really made some new and amazing friends.
