It's a season of love, today especially being Valentine's Day, it's a day when we get to celebrate our significant other, it's a day of love, it's a day when we express either in words or actions how much we actually love our partners.
Write a letter to someone special to you in or outside of Hive.
I'll be writing this letter to my friend Georgewill, he's been an incredible friend over the years, one I can rely on, one I can run to in times of difficulties, he's been an absolute blessing to not just me but to my siblings too.
Dear George,
I trust you're doing well, I hope you and your family are in good health, because that is one of the paramount things one needs to have.
As I write this letter to you, I bless God for the day we met, and for bringing us together, I remember I had not wanted to carry out my industrial training in my department's laboratory, I had wanted somewhere else, but it didn't work out as planned, and I had to resort to taking up the offer at school and boom on a certain day while I was just sitting and waiting for my instructor to come, you came into the lab to get some stuff done, and you reached out to me. I never knew this was the beginning of a great friendship that would stand the test of time.
You've been more than a friend to me, you've been a brother where you had to be, you've been a confidant when you had to be, you've been a motivator, an encourager even in times when I didn't believe in myself, you had an unwavering belief and faith in me. And for all these I am grateful.
Thank you for standing by me through thick and thin, I don't take your friendship for granted at all.
Our friendship is one that I cherish a lot because it came at a time when I was almost at my lowest, but God used you to bring me back to His plan for my life. I miss you so much these days whenever I think about you and the memories we've shared over the years as we are not in the same city, I miss your sense of humor, and how you make jokes out of some very intense matters, thereby easing the tension. I know I can be a handful, but you were always patient with me, condoning my excesses, and pulling me to order when the need arose.
Since I got here I haven't really seen so much of the city, I bet if you were here, you would pull my lazy self out of the house to go see as many places as we could.
Since I came here I have had to try several dishes that I wasn't familiar with, for instance, I tried Eforiro, Amala, and Ewedu, and some others. While trying these dishes I couldn't help but remember some of our escapades that involved having something we had never eaten before. I remember the day we went to get lunch, and on the menu was a certain dish called 'Yamarita', that was the first time we were hearing about it, and didn't know what it was, but when I looked up from my menu, I couldn't miss the glimmer of mischievousness in your eyes, and you pleaded with me that we should have a taste of it just for the fun of it, in your words, 'if we go somewhere tomorrow and they bring it as a dish, we would know what we are eating'. I remember accepting or agreeing to your plea, and we had the 'Yamarita'. At the end of the day, it wasn't bad, scratch that, it was delicious, I discovered that it was simply yam dipped in egg and flour or bread crumbs and fried, it was so delicious. These are some of the reasons that make me miss you even more.
I plan on returning home during the Easter period, and I can't wait to see you, I know we have a lot of catching up to do, but until then take care, don't forget that I ❤ you, wish you Happy Valentine's Day.
