College life is always an interesting one , it's a phase of life that encompasses different aspects of an individuals life ranging from academic pursuits which is the most important, then creating social interactions and also improving in personal growth. In school we are not limited to academics alone as the whole idea is to become successful and shaped in other areas that are necessary to survive in the society. For me personally it was a time of self discovery, a time to come out of my shell and explore the world here there were no limitations but whatever I do is based on my self discipline, without this peer pressure would crop in and become a negative impact on all that one has accomplished so far.

As a Nigeria student before we set out to the academic year, our parents sits us down to give us advice , knowing that in college the only guidance we have is with ourselves, the ability to say no in the face of corruption, where we would be made to take decisions on our own by making new friendships that would either influence your personality positively or negatively, the ability to face challenges both simple and difficult both in academics and personal life and also to make use of opportunities.

As a student in college, all my focus was in my education. I was always diligent with my studies, prioritized my academics, and was striving for top grades. I knew I had a reason for been there and I tried my best so hard to make the best use of my time and make a good grade for my degree. Although having good grades was my top priority but I was the kind of student that tried so much to balance coursework with extracurricular activities and involvement in campus organizations. When I look back to my school days or go through pictures back then,I am glad that I made out time to associate with other people and be part of departmental and faculty activities.

As a student, asides from being studious, I took church activities seriously. I am a Catholic and from the moment I stepped into that school I familiarized myself with the church and they became my send family in school asides friends and colleagues in my class. I even joined some groups in church that helped me to grow my faith spiritually like the legion of Mary , at a later time because of my commitment and dedication I was made the secretary of the organization. This task helped me learn to balance my time and energy coupled with school work. I always made plans that would not clash with my academics no matter what.

So in all, I could be regarded as a student that switches between school, work and my hostel because I rarely hangout with friends. Basically, the experiences helped shaped me into a better person as I let the school values pass through me and they are helping me in my life achievements currently..

This is my entry for the hivenaijaweekly prompt.

Every African student have that night they were called and advised before they left home for school 😂. It's now left for the child to either follow instructions or not.

You really look like those very intelligent kids back then In who reads for hours non stop.
The kid my parents wanted me to be😂
