Greetings!
2024 is finally here. As a community, we have come a long way together over the years, and more exponentially since The Big Move. What we want for ourselves is to have a space where countrymen have a home to share the Nigerian experience and connect with one another. Together, we'll have a blast of a year.
Welcome to a new edition of the Hive Naija Weekly Prompts. This initiative is one of our activities to explore our creativity and foster connections amongst ourselves. Whether you're a seasoned creator or just discovering the joy of expressing your thoughts, these prompts are crafted to inspire and ignite your creativity, as well as interact with the creativity of others in the community.
Last Edition's Winners:
We appreciate every participant for taking giant strides to expand their minds with the last edition's prompts. Many were as beautiful as they came. And there are a few that we want to showcase for their exceptional entries and level of engagement in the community.
First Place
by @zyzymena
With no second thought, I bolted out of the house, my legs moving so fast that they seemed to touch the back of my head. The news of the impending danger had spread like wildfire across the village, leading to a flurry of packing and preparations to leave. Arriving at the heart of the village, the uziza trees stood before me. I reached out and plucked the needed quantity for the special dish, then hurried back to the house.
Second Place

Moments later, Nabila had finished the soup when the ground began to vibrate. She staggered before gaining balance. Her environment was becoming a daze but she could hear a lot of commotion from the villagers. Chaos ensued and everyone ran around looking confused. Haze had occupied G’lela creating a dust screen. The goats were bleating, horses were stomping and the children were crying.
Third Place

Every visitor who has at some point tasted this native dish of ours, always has something good to say and they constantly praise the soup and would want it to be prepared for them, you can never go wrong with this particular native dish of ours, it is either you love it or you love it, there is no two way about it. Nothing beats that delicious soup, I bet you if it is made for you, you would lick your hands and even wipe the plate clean.
Congratulations to these talented individuals for their outstanding contributions. Each of them wins 3, 2, and 1 HIVE for their positions. Now, we would like mention a few other entries that we deem exceptional.
