Family planning, in my opinion, refers to the practice of controlling when how many children a couple or person would have based on their desires and circumstances. The following is the importance of family planning since it includes a wide range of health, economic considerations, and social lifestyles. The following are the different family planning methods:

  • Health benefits
  • Contraceptive methods
  • Population and economic impacts etc.
Family planning is always encouraged and promoted by health providers, organizations working to improve reproductive health and rights, and the government within our society.

2. Do you think countries should regulate their population using Family Planning?

I think that, to some extent, countries that regulate population growth through family planning are the way to go. That is because some children have been found wandering in the streets, begging, or hustling and doing everything possible to survive because the families can't support them.

Seeing all this in our society and countries, I think there should be a need for family planning so as to reduce population and create a better society. There is no point in bringing someone into this world to suffer if there were regulation of the population using family planning, there would be fewer unemployed people and less privileged people in our society.

3. Do you encourage family planning? Tell us your reasons.

Yes, I do encourage family planning due to the numerous benefits it has in store for society, families, and individuals. More reasons why I encourage family planning are:

Health Benefits
Family planning, by enabling a delay between childbirths, lowers the chances of pregnancy risks and the mothers’ stresses. It also lowers the possibility of having more low weight and preterm infants and helps parents give more attention to the care of each child.

Economic Stability
Family planning assists in assisting people in better arranging their finances by making certain that they possess resources that would enable them to raise, educate, and develop their offspring. Also, family planning helps reduce poverty through enabling especially women to go through education and work without interruptions.

Societal and Environmental Impact
Family planning reduces the health, psychological and financial burdens that arise from having children at unwanted times. Also, family planning aids to avoid dangerous abortions and related problems.

4. Tell us about some of the methods or types of family planning you know or have heard of.

I am aware of many different methods or types of family planning, including:

Natural ways
This method is a way of observing one's menstrual cycles, basal body temperature, and cervical mucus in order to determine when one is fertile and then to avoid intercourse during that time. Part of this method includes what is sometimes known as the withdrawal method, where the male partner withdraws before ejaculation in order to prevent the sperm from entering the vagina and causing a conception.

Barrier Methods This is a method wherein both males and females make use of condoms, which are physical barriers that do not let the sperm get to the egg while providing protection from sexually transmitted infections.
