Time happens to everything in this world... With time, we learn better, become wiser and above all, things become easier as we learn from difficulties in different aspects of our lives. One thing technology has brought to us over time is, easiness. There's much ease with how we carry out activities, we achieve more and faster now.
One of the many aspects technology have helped us live through much easier than before technology is, Love and relationships. I didn't live in the era of before technology but from stories and how I imagined that time to be, it was harder than it is now to keep contacts and connections. It was harder although much valued than now.
To be in a relationship, one of the things that will keep it going is communication in whatever form those involve decide on. In times past, it went from travelling long distances to sending letters and all these would take a lot of time to get the individuals back in contact. It's still a wonder how they were able to find love and stayed for it then.
Love, without good and regular communication could fade away, I can only imagine the amount of effort dating couples put in then to keep their relationships going until they began to live together. From my memories, I can remember when there were not many students who had a phone, letters were flying around for love's sake.
Back then, a girl who didn't receive a letter could be considered ugly or not friendly, as the senders always know who the letter is going to before they wrote it. But in these days, we can send a "Hello" to just anyone regardless of looks and backgrounds, just random tries to make new friends, some would find true love along the way.
A lot of people have been in a relationship that they had to rely on their devices to keep in contacts, I can't even imagine how life would be for many if these technology helpers are taken away now. Chats, voice notes, voice calls, video calls, sending pictures or videos, and so many other things that technology has brought to enhance distanced relationships these days.
Even close relationships needs this faster way of communication for the times they are at work or about their daily activities outside the home. Technology has brought people together and kept them for longer than even imagined, but it is not without soem disadvantages. While people could find and fall in love, the possibility of it being a bad news in reality can not be ignored.
If I should say which era I prefer most, it has to be the technology era that has made things easier for Love and relationships. I didn't live in both eras but I know well enough that things have gotten easier and of course, we'd always want the easier way, we just need to be careful not fall for the wrong reasons or people we find online.
