I am chirpy, lively, and cheerful this morning, it seems I have found what I lost many years ago.
My friend, Peter, and I were both age mates and at the same time my old school chum. He is chummy, captivating, and interesting, we both spent and have fun together in our primary and secondary school days until they were transferred to another town for public service. Then most people including the teachers thought we are twins, our physical appearances are alike and similar, and we display the same manners, we also possess the same height and complexion.
The only difference we had is the names we bear. His names are Olope Peter Shedrac and my name is Obanla David Abiola, with this different names we possess made us be recognized by our class teachers.
Peter's mom is a nurse while his Dad is a police officer. They were both transferred to my town when I was just four years old. Then I was in primary one. So Peter joined our school and he was enrolled in my class, primary one. Due to our likeness, he was given a sit next to me.
Since then we started our childhood. We move, play and we were grouped whenever there were any assignments or class work in the classroom. Due to the mutual relationship we shared, I was introduced to his parents by our class teacher, Mr. Johnson Michael, during the school's Parents and Teachers Association meeting (PTA). At the same time, both our parents were introduced by the said class teacher in the meeting.
With this introduction, we started like a family where both parents related, visited, and shared ideas and belongings. Whenever I visit their home, I was mostly referred to as twin because I am three months older than him (Peter), we were both treated like twins by both parents, most times, we wore the same clothes to compliment our physical appearances.
With this our outfits and physical appearances, most people thought we were twins. All this we imitate until they were transferred. After our primary education, we were enrolled in the same secondary school. Most of our secondary school teachers including our principals thought we were twins due to our uniqueness and behaviors.
But the relationship dampened when we started hearing the rumors that Peter's parents were transferred to another town. I couldn't believe this until it was confirmed. During this period, I was disoriented, agazed, and disorganized. I tried to follow them to their new home but my parents couldn't free me, I couldn't get myself that period because it seems they have taken my twin brother away.
During the time we are together, we couldn't have a handset due to our little age so we couldn't have each other's contact but our parents does. After a few years, they relocated there, the line wasn't reachable, my parents kept on trying but we couldn't get through. Since then, we were detached and disconnected, and due to this, we couldn't know their whereabout.
But last week, we found each other with the help of social media. I couldn't wait to meet him until we finally met yesterday. I have found my lost chum after twelve years but at this time, he is done with his education just like myself. He studied psychology at Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma, Edo State. Though his face has slightly changed from mine, he now grows a beard and has a different face from the past. And at this time, he is no longer staying with his parents, so I couldn't meet with his parents, but I believe soon, will meet his long seen parents.
So we met and we have some fun together. I have SEEN MY OLD TWIN BROTHER. I am very glad.
The image is mine.
