When mistakes become inevitable.

Hello, everyone.

I welcome you to my blog. Slowly our world is changing, and the way people react to things back in the day is no longer how people react to those things now. Trust me, a lot of things that were considered an abomination and should be avoided at all costs are slowly becoming a normal and getting accepted in our society today. The things that people cancelled those days are now normal things, things that one would do and get scolded at these days; they do it, and people clap for them. That is what the world we are living in has turned into. Only a few things that were frowned upon back in the day are still frowned upon till date; many are now smiled at and supported under the umbrella of the Gen Z generation.

One of the very few things that are still frowned upon is teenage pregnancy or pregnancy out of wedlock. There are parents who would take it lightly if such a thing befalls them, but trust me when I say there are parents who will punish their daughter like they hated her from the day she was born because of the shame and disgrace she has brought upon them. One thing that can ruin a child's life is pregnancy out of wedlock; it puts your whole life on hold until the baby is delivered, and after that, 70 percent of people are no longer able to get their lives back on track, and therefore they settle to be way less than the dream they had for themselves when they were kids.

The stage between adulthood and childhood is a very critical one and a stage in the life of a child where both the child and the parents need to be extra vigilant to avoid being one of those who have to deal with their teenage daughter getting pregnant. Sometimes avoiding this becomes inevitable; hence, parents are forced to deal with their teenage daughter getting pregnant; in some cases, the parents handle it wrongly, and in some cases, the parents handle it well. The child is wrong for bringing such shame to the family, but there are manners in which a parent will handle the case, and society will blame them for what happens next.

I have seen parents kick their daughter out because she made the mistake of getting pregnant out of wedlock; they just kick her out, no job, no way to care for herself, and funny how in most cases the man behind the problem has no job as well. This will prompt her into extreme suffering and seeking for help, which will make her accept help from just anybody, exposing both her and the unborn baby to more danger.

So to answer this week's prompt, how will I react to a case where my teenage daughter gets pregnant while pursuing her dreams and aspirations? I am definitely going to let her know how angry I am and how much shame she has brought upon the entire family. While passing my message of how angry I am, I will not kick her out but will make sure that the message of how angry she has made me is passed. Kicking a pregnant girl out is never an option. While you punish her, try to make sure that she has a support system, as pregnancy is not something one person can handle.

I understand the anger, but kicking her out won’t help. She needs support to get through it, not to be left on her own. It’s all about helping her move forward.
