Pet peeves are little things that annoys someone. I once had a neighbour who made me angry a lot and she claims to be a god christian but her character doesn't portray it.
I do purchase things from her almost on a daily basis and the things I do purchase from her I buy in bulk and pay in cash not credit, and she knows that I buy to resell in other to get my own small profit but she still sells it at a higher price for me. But when a consumer comes to buy from her she lessens the price of goods for the consumer.
There was a time she had a program in her church and she went about sharing envelopes. Even though I was out of town for about a week, she specially kept an envelope for me. When I returned from my trip, she made sure she looked for me. She came knocking at my door, presenting the envelope of invitation. I asked her if it was to share money or any gift, if she would remember me ? She just laughed and stylishly walked away. I noted her behaviour and began to distance myself from her.
Another event in my life that gets me angry is how people will be humble when they want to collect goods on credit but after collecting it and you ask them to pay you back on the day they themselves promised, it will become a problem.
An elderly man came to collect some food stuff from my shop and he promised to pay me back in a weeks time. After a week, I called him on the phone to demand for my money but he picked up the phone and gave it to his wife who told me her husband wasn't around. She then promised me month end that they will pay up.
Month ended yet no payment. Another month ended and still no payment was forthcoming. Whenever I called that number, it is always switched off. Things like this piss me off.
The last one that disturbs me the most is when someone eats with their mouth open. I had a colleague who used to eat that way. Whenever it was break time, he would bring out his food flask and begin to eat. He would then start to chew loudly. Sometimes I wonder if the sound he emits from chewing does not irritate him as he ate. Thankfully, he has moved to find a higher paying job and my ears have relaxed 😁
