Hello everyone, I am a newbie here on this platform. My name is Mrs Patience Lado and I am an educator currently teaching literature in a private school. I got to know about hive from @beckyroyal. She has told me a lot about hive that I finally had to join this year and I am glad that I did.

I like to read a lot because it makes me see reasons why people have different understanding to life situations. I am a Nigerian I who hails from Akwa Ibom state but married to a man from Plateau state. ,I am a christian. It is nice to finally be here.

I love to travel a lot and I have been to 10 different states so far in my country I have been some parts of Plateau state, Cross River State, Akwa Ibom, Taraba state and many more. I like Anambra state a lot because the people are accommodating, friendly and it was so nice that I stayed for a long period of time.

The last time I visited plateau, the people there welcomed me with love and gave me groundnut soup and corn meal to eat, as a new wife, which I enjoyed so much. As for my best delicacy it is called Ekpang nku kwo . It is made from water yam, cocoyam and periwinkles .

I have a positive mind towards many things and I prefer people presenting the worst case scenaros in a mild way. That way it makes me feel better . I dislike the local government I come from because of it's ancient traditions where by if someone's mum dies the person will have to go and inform her people with the number of children she had when she was alive. For example,if she had seven children, her child will go and inform her kinsmen with 7 male goats and seven tubers of yam after that ,he will pay the transportation for her people to come and check her fresh corpse to see if she was well taken care of before she passed on.

My first child

During the burial process, he will feed them and transport them back before other necessary arrangements for the proper burial takes place. Then, the first and second granddaughters will be the female chief mourners and the grand children must provide a female chicken, that's if they are females, but if they are males, then it will be a cock that will be presented.

Family meetings are held up to fifteen times or more giving responsibility to all her biological children she left behind including wives married into the family and husband married into the family. But what gives me a little joy is that all the money collected during the burial, is usually shared among the children of the deceased, no matter how small. On the burial day after her corpse has been dressed , any of her children or grandchildren who wishes to talk to her corps can go into the room, drop any amount of money and start talking to her depending on what you want for her to bless you with in your future.

My young kids

The part I hate the most is that you have to complete asking all her kinsmen before the burial or else if you stubbornly bury the person the kinsmen will make sure it doesn't end well with you and your generation. I now came to realize that there are many things in life that money cannot buy. Some of these things we find so rare in our everyday life, in many cases, people care less about them, that is returning everything back to it original source .

One thing I also realized is that every moment I spent in my local government I learnt something new which my brother has never learned because he is scared of the villagers .

Here on hive, I hope to share many things gained from personal experience with you all. I also hope to learn new things and make more friends I also request your guidance and help in navigating this platform.

Thank you all for reading and having me. God bless.
