BUT MY GRANNIES NEVER PLANNED THEIR KIDS.
When I look at populated countries in the world like China, for instance, I do ask myself why. and how? What lead to so many people in the country? Could it have been too much of a space that needed to be occupied quickly, or massive abduction of foreigners, or a huge demand for labor force? With over a billion people in a country, which is like three times that of my own country of about 400 million people recorded as of the 2022 population consensus. Anyway, that isn’t why I’m here today; I want to elaborate more on the need for family planning, how acceptable it is in my country as well, and how effective it is on the population census.
Despite how good and acceptable family planning is in my country, we do have people who still decide not to indulge themselves but rather have their free will as time goes by. So, of course, family planning is well accepted in my country, and citizens are urged to have a desired plan that suits their choice to not only maintain a decent and desired population but also to help them avoid having financial breakdowns and avoid family crises at the same time. If you should ask me, I would say that in my personal opinion on family planning and birth control, the fewer people you have in hand to care for, the lesser worries and pressure exerted on you as the parent or guardian therefore, lesser population with the aid of a good family panning decision and birth control. This is one of the big advantages of family planning.
Back in the early '70s and '80s, there were mostly extended families, and most of these families had more than one mother, that is, a man marrying more than one wife, and each wife could have about 5 to 8 children. Just like the case of my parents, my mum has six siblings plus herself making it seven and she had a stepmom as well which means her father who happens to be my grandfather married more than one wife even though in most cases, they rarely remain in good terms with each other and it is always a competition of who could bare the most number of children between the wives because she gets to be crowned as the senior most respected amongst the other wives. Now you can imagine what it was like in the late 20th century here in my country and I believe this act also contributed to the massive surge in population. Some people would even say that children are blessings from God. Therefore, the more children you make the more at which you’re being blessed.
But one disadvantage of birth control I find disturbing is the part where couples decide to stop having kids after they’ve gotten a desired number of children, and now the woman undergoes some sort of, should I call it, in-fertilization. De-fertilizing herself, which has to do with her not being able to conceive anymore. That scares me a lot because what if there is a change in plan? For instance, they lost a child and decided to have another child. They will simply have to abduct one instead which they could have had a child of their own if not for the birth control. This is the only disadvantage I see in birth control, and I would prefer to have a discussion and agreement with my spouse rather than take such an action in the first place.
But all being said, yes, family planning is now widely acceptable in my region, as well as birth control, but as usual, people do have their own opinions towards what they want and what they feel is safer and more convenient for them.
